I experienced the exact same issue here in St. Louis when a local station attempted to get their PSIP info correct before the 2/1 deadline. It's at their end but they probably are unaware because few stations monitor their DT signals with the 811. They typically use more conventional STBs...

In light of the fact that there is no standard, you offer an excellent suggestion. How then, does this get communicated to Dish? Until a standard is developed (if ever) mirroring on the -02 for all broadcasters is truly arbitrary.

Well, this should be a relatively minor thing to correct. Do you know how I might best bring this to their attention? Hopefully it could get incorporated into a later release. There's no way to go on like this indefinitely, especially as more DT sub-channels come on line.

I've seen the same issue twice since the release. I've reported it and I believe it's a known issue, but I have no idea if/when it will be addressed. Although better than the BSOD & not as frequent, it still requires a reboot to get back in business.

I've gotten the No Info issue on some DBS channels too. It has only occurred twice since P284, but the last time I got it I was (definitely) on Discovery Channel 182 for a few hours.

As a BSOD subscriber, I'll Second that! I was a Beta tester for TiVo in the early days. It's fun and you get the ability to communicate issues to those who can actually do something about them.

Ditto. I even power-down my 811 every night before bed.....as instructed by Tech Support. But 18 hours later, when I turn it back on it'll give me the BSOD every time. (Perhaps I should also kiss it on the forehead) :D

The biggest "improvement" I see of 282 over 281 was the ability of the receiver to reboot itself automatically after the BSOD arrives. Some fix.

That's what I thought. However, when I e-mailed their engineering dept, they claim it's at my end. One would think they would know. I didn't push back because the guide does list the station correctly at first when I reinstall it. If that's the case, why would it change to the UHF channel...

Keep in mind that the 811 does not have a Channel 3 RF output. So you cannot distribute it that way thru your house. Not a good way to do it that way anyway. But older units allowed you to do just that for "bedroom" TVs.

It's like night and day. Trust me. IMHO, CRT is the worst technology. LCD looks great on the Sony & Hitachi sets. But DLP looks the best with richer, darker blacks (which the LCDs cannot do quite as well) and absolutely brilliant colors.

Do you view OTA-DT locals as well? If you do, then we must really try to isolate why some of us have these issues quite regularly while others NEVER seem to experience them. Do you hace your gude in full-screen mode or do you have the channel you're watching in the screen as well?
