If you think that you get something (let's suppose Voom package) without a commitment from D* that is your fault. Right now only cable can offer no commitment plans. Nobody announced any plans with Voom except Dish. That is why people including myself are happy to commit now than who knows when...

With Dish if you own equipment, then you select packages you want. If AT60 is not included then there is extra $5 fee. So HD pack with Voom pack will be $19.99/month If you lease equipment, then AT60 as a minimum should be included.

Just ask to connect 61.5 dish instead of installing new 148. If necessary, ask them to change LNBF from 148 to 61.5.

Technically Voom dish is compatible. I had Dish 61.5 when switched to Voom. Voom installers just disconnected it from Dish 500 system and Voom worked. Yesterday, I had installation with Dish (SuperDish system). I asked to keep my Dish 500 system. Installer tried. Dish 61.5 worked, but bigger...

The answer was "YES" two years ago. "NO" is the correct answer now. They have only CBSHD (if you qualify) and HD DEMO (absolutly worthless) only on current 61.5 location.

That is probably not a likeable option, but yes - 2 years. I asked about cancellation fee - it is prorated $10/month. So it will be between 0 up to $240. So if DirectTV will do something next year it will be not a big deal to cancel.

Espn Deportes is not only a spanish channel. It provide much more soccer events then Espn and Espn2 combined. UEFA Champions League is an excellent addition to soccer fans! Good job, Voom. Also consider to add GolTV HD when it will be available this summer. :D

SD: Actually, Dish and Voom boxes has very different option to fit SD on a widescreen. When I switched to V* in July 2004, I also thought that E* SD was better. It took couple of weeks for my eyes to adujst. Now I think that V* SD is much better. New encoders did not change things for me.
