Another new SEC filing (CVC 8-k): Closing of Rainbow DBS business has been delayed!

if CVC shuts down voom instead of selling it off, aren't they left with all of that debt? So selling the company off gets them something back for their investment vs. getting nothing back.

Another new SEC filing (CVC 8-k): Closing of Rainbow DBS business has been delayed!

so the board rejected the offer, so instead of changing the offer, they just changed the board?

Amendment #4 To Form 10: Rainbow Media Enterprises (all related articles posted here)

I agree except the lack of a DVR continues to be a problem. When I signed up at the end of may, the DVR was projected for summer and new bandwidth for more channels was projected for October. I personally don't care how many subscribers there are. I do care that I'm now forced to watch...

Amendment #4 To Form 10: Rainbow Media Enterprises (all related articles posted here)

the NFL doesn't get paid per subscriber and D* loses a lot of money on this deal - they pay a major premium because Sunday Ticket locks people into D*.

Amendment #4 To Form 10: Rainbow Media Enterprises (all related articles posted here)

the thing that troubles me is that Voom has some holes in their current offering, and instead of fixing the holes to attract new customers, they leave the holes there and let the current customers leave. It's almost like they've reached the point where they intend to fail. They should be...

Amendment #4 To Form 10: Rainbow Media Enterprises (all related articles posted here)

This is discouraging - how is Voom going to expand their offerings if they aren't doing MPEG-4 for a year and they don't know when they are putting the new bandwidth online. I'm still waiting for Fox Sports Ohio. I've also noticed there is no NBA channel on voom. I've been subscribing to...

FoxSport Channel Cleveland Region new channel next?

ok - the cavs games start Nov 3rd. Any chance they'll actually add the channel now - there hasn't been a lot of point in adding it until now. My account still says: FSNCLV: Active

FoxSport Channel Cleveland Region new channel next?

I currently still have D* for fox sports ohio and for tivo. I'm going to be patient a while longer for V* to get their DVR out and for them to bump their bandwidth up with the new satellite space they leased and/or by adopting MPEG-4. I like the idea that V*, when they get Fox Sports Ohio...

***** Big Big Changes for HD Cinema*****ALL MOVIES in OAR all the time

funny story about the whole OAR issue - went to the store to pick up StarWars tonight after midnight. I'm standing in front of the display, a guy is holding the full screen edition. I said - didn't you want the widescreen version? He said - no, they cut the top and bottom off of your TV with...

FoxSport Channel Cleveland Region new channel next?

cool - that's plenty of time for basketball season. Voom needs to make it known in the Cleveland area that they will now have Cavs (and indians) games in HD.

    Are you getting a signal from 321, 593 & 594 (post here)?

a list of locations would be nice. One of the other satallite providers, I forget if it was Dish or Directv, had a list of areas - I was in their areas, but apparently am not in V*'s area, which makes no sense at all. I get it OTA, so it doesn't matter a whole lot - I thought the V* feed...

Good News And Bad News...wow!!! (All Coming from CSR. Take it as you will)

As some pointed out, H.264 would fit a lot more data onto the hard disk. It'll also get us a lot more channels. Lower data rate H.264 still provides a better picture vs MPEG2. Good enough that there's H.264 DVD players wouldn't need a higher capacity disc to switch over to HD. That's not...

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

on D*, people got their local sports channel for free, but had to pay to get the out of market channels, but even then, the major sports were blacked out on the out of market channels - you had to buy the various league subscriptions to get those. But the local sports teams were available...

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

30 miles south of cleveland - so I should get the cleveland station (and this seems to be confirmed online), and thus the cavs (and indians I think) games.

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

well, they are added to the online guide, and there is a note about them in the billing information, but as of yet, I can't tune to the cleveland channel.

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

I only have 2 reasons to keep my D* subscription along side of Voom right now. One is Fox Sport Ohio (have to have my Cavs games when the season starts). The other is the DVR. I'll be thrilled if this rumor pans out. Now where is that DVR
