    900,000 subscriptions

I don't know where you get that info from. I have had a DVR in one form or another for 3 years. I currently have 2 Comcast DVRs. But there is legislation pending that will limit not only what can be recorded on our DVRS, but even limit a whole house DVR from sending programming throughout the...

Great News - Voom Is Here To Stay!!

I had 2 E* dishes and didn't have HD. Had to have the second dish to receive a couple of the more obscure locals. I think that E* had to scamble when the law requiring ALL locals be offered by satellite providers went into effect and they didn't have transponder room.

    Rainbow Spin-off is dead

You're right about the HD quantity of Voom, but I have fallen in love with Comcast's Video on Demand. I would have never seen Huff on Showtime if I hadn't dropped Voom for Comcast. I have also had D* and E* as well as V* and its not all about the quantity of HD, its also about the ability to see...

VOOM Satellite Service to Dramatically Increase to Over 70 HD channels by March 2005

Well, right now at 9 AM I am watching House in HD on my Comcast DVR. Last week at this time, I was watching it in SD from my DirecTiVo. And yesterday I discovered the joys of VOD. So, maybe a little Tony Soprano next or some highlights from any of the NFL games from last weekend. Or, INHD's In...

VOOM Satellite Service to Dramatically Increase to Over 70 HD channels by March 2005

That's why I left Voom. I don't care if they have 700 HD channels. The ability of watching what I want, when I can, is priceless.

VOOM PVR/DVR Release Soon... Echostar/Rainbow information coming soon as well (???)

Well, I waited long enough for a DVR and it hasn't appeared yet. I am not paying for D* and Voom so I cancelled Voom yesterday. I find myself watching SD TiVoed shows more then what's on Voom due to my schedule (working 3rd shift). Now I have to decide on the $1000 D* HD 10-250 or the decidely...

Is it just me or do other experience Olympics Pixelation?

Same here in Atlanta. Close up action is pixilating. Its the OTA affiliate, btw. It seems to be getting better though as the games progress.

So what the hell is going on???? re olympic feed

No Voom feed on any channel in Atlanta. Got 2 feeds on the NBC affiliate though (OTA), SD and HD. HD looks awesome.
  16. slick1ru2

    Are you getting a signal from 321, 593 & 594 (post here)?

Same here in Atlanta. The local NBC affiliate has set up a seperate OTA HD feed for the Olympics.

What is this white dot on my screen as of today on all channels?

I've had the same thing on my rear projection too. I use the DVI cable. At first I was turning the STB off and back on and that reset it. Now I just unplug the DVI cable and plug it back in and its gone. I wonder if everyone here is using DVI and its a DVI problem. BTW, my white dots kinda look...

    VOOM: Promo Gone! New Prices...

Comcast in Atlanta now has 13 HD channels. Service is not great in some areas from what I hear, but for $5 more a month I'm keeping my eye on them if Voom skyrockets. PLUS they have their DVR, which I understands does HD.

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

Scott, can you clarify this? Is there a link about the second dish and "upgrade" and what it entails. Thanks.

New Channels and Olympics on VOOM?

Why don't they get Fox Sports South?

    VOOM: Promo Gone! New Prices...

Me too. I project that Voom will start having a net loss of customers with this pricing scheme. More people leaving then becoming new customers. I think the rest of us should expect that the PVR price (inital and monthly) will be pretty hefty too.
