Fcc Proposals Could Silence Christian Radio Stations !

"However, Bradley does have a point that Christian radio stations are overrepresented on the non-commercial educational band (87.9-91.9 MHz). I don't think abusing the FCC to force college radio and NPR stations off the air is how Jesus would want the gospel spread." I respectfully disagree and...

Poll - Which direction did everyone go?

I voted DirecTV because we've had them in-house for five years now anyway...and they do have a pretty decent selection of Christian channels now (including four Christian XM channels). As soon as we have a better Internet solution (c'mon Clearwire!!!), I'll be happy (I hope) to have Sky Angel...

Fcc Proposals Could Silence Christian Radio Stations !

Sorry 'bout that! - It was a personal reflection. I'm just kind of fatigued because if you happen to have an appreciation for Christian radio like I do, there hasn't been much good news for the last year or so. Sky Angel's change in direction has a lot to do with that.

Fcc Proposals Could Silence Christian Radio Stations !

Here's the link to the FCC proposal: http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-07-218A1.pdf First Sky Angel DBS goes bye-bye and now this. I've been hearing for 30+ years about one alarmist announcement after another where supposedly some atheistic group is trying to do away with...

Poll: What type of church do you attend?

Nope - no Vineyard churches here! "Church of the Nazarene." Our Nazarene church rocks too...but only in the second service! :D (It's a "worship style" joke for any of those who...never mind!)

Poll: What type of church do you attend?

What type of church do I attend? I was a member of a multi-denominational mission team about 20 years ago and we were asked that question a lot. It didn't take long before we invented a team response: "Prespicostal!" No disrespect intended - talkin' denomination is a useful springboard, but...

    service is gone :(

Well...crud! It's been a good seven years or so for me and my family. Maybe when we get a real broadband provider that reaches our house, I'll join SA in IPTV-Land. They may pick up more urban customers, but left me wanting - that's for sure. I do wish Dominion and their customers (former...

    Disappointed lifetime members post HERE

I'm one of the first-year lifetime subscribers - paid for the lifetime membership back when I lived in a house that couldn't get the signal from 61.5. I did that because I wanted to make sure I was able to (a) invest in their idea, and (b) partake in their services once we moved. We moved in...

    Review Of Sky Angel Iptv

Sky Angel IPTV Early Adopters - I need to ask a question of you. This relates to audio programming. I have read that you cannot "go back" and "pvr" a radio program from the past 48 hours like you can the television channels because they use a different streaming technology to deliver audio...

Directv To Launch Gospel Music Channel On March 19

Ahhhhh...life is good! Well, "better" anyway! If they got the Worship Network and Bott Radio Network on DirecTV, I wouldn't miss Sky Angel anymore either. I know that pigs will fly before Bott is on DirecTV but Worship Network...? Can't you make that work Mr. Paxton???

    SkyAngel Plans Move to IPTV

If HughesNet is not compatible, I wonder if WildBlue is going to have problems. It certainly is odd that HughesNet doesn't work when they've been pitching to sell them on their web site for the last few months.

    SkyAngel Plans Move to IPTV

Boy, what a rotten way to start a weekend! I'm not going to offer anything new to the conversation here, except to say that I live in Christian radio no-man's land AND broadband no-man's land as well. My Internet is 512kpbs Satellite 2-way -- not good enough for IPTV (SA-IPTV needs 1 to 1.5...

Interesting May Viewer Advisory Board Survey

The idea of SA going 100% IPTV goes against one of their original mission objectives: In the 1990's, they were high on the idea of broadcasting satellite television into other countries that is inside the footprint of their signal (Puerto Rico, Mexico, Central America, etc.). Only the very...
