Going through my old posts and found this, Satellite History! Members here made history, subscribing to the first primaryly HD satellite company to exist. Later, I had some of the Voom channels on Dish when they added them after Voom ceased to exist. Drinking a toast to fellow HD Satellite...

For antenna suggestions I would check out Atlanta HDTV group on Yahoo http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/ahdtv/ The group even has a loaner antenna, I think its a Wineguard, not sure which one.

I get everything with the Stealth w/amplifier (installed for Voom by Chris at Installs, INC and tweeked once by a second guy from them to increase 46's strength) except PAX whose antenna is in Rome. The only fringe I have is UPN, which I don't watch enough to call for the upgrade.I live in West...

I've been having problems with UPN lately. Also, there were some drops in MNF this past Monday. I live in West Cobb. If it gets worse, I'm calling for an antenna upgrade.

Good. Last week ESPN had an HD feed of the Falcons and 46 an SD feed.

Blame Granny if your Favorite Local isn't Broadcasting in HD

Its not just DTV that is going to make people go out and buy a digital receiver. Clear Channel just announced it is going to convert 95% of it radio stations to digital within 3 years. A digital radio receiver starts at around $300. The good news is that AM will sound like FM and FM will have CD...

From what I am reading on the Yahoo Atlanta HD group, WXIA 11.2 is SD and showing the radar map. For some reason, Voom is showing 11.2, not 11.1. I called Voom about it early this morning, not holding my breath for it to be fixed anytime soon.

Blame Granny if your Favorite Local isn't Broadcasting in HD

Actually the article below talks about DVT, not HDTV, but at least here in Atlanta, broadcasters are transmiting either both SD and HD DTV or just HD over their digital equipment. Digital Deadline Gets Squishy By Michael Grebb | 02:00 AM Jul. 22, 2004 PT WASHINGTON --...

Blame Granny if your Favorite Local isn't Broadcasting in HD

That's kinda strange. The digital broadcasters in Atlanta are broadcasting either in both or in HD, not SD only. Where are you located? That's the experience I am going by. I would also imagine that as the number of HD TV owners in your area increases and the lovers of shows like 24 or CSI...

PBS maybe in August WPBA-DT is possibly be going to be up in August. That is what I read on Atlanta HD forum on Yahoo. Don't know what channel or even where the tower will be. Hopefully in the downtown cluster since I have the Stealth directional. Plus, don't know how or if Voom will add it to...

    Is your Dish grounded?

Actually the Voom installer pointed out my recently installed D* dish wasn't grounded. It took them 2 more trips to get it to meet code.

We voted the Democrats out, do we need to oust the Republicans on an HDTV for PBS platflorm? ;)

2,5 and 11 are the strongest channels I get here in W. Marietta/Austell. They are in the 70-90 range. It is strange you are having a problem with 2, unless there is a tall building close to them in that direction from you. But as far as I know, only 46 is operating are reduced power (60%) is...

Anyone seeing pixilation on Chanel 2 today? I have an 80+ OTA strength on that channel but noticed it when Oprah was on. 46 was also acting really weird too, going from the 40s to 0 and back. I am having Installs come back out and check it out. Maybe getting a bigger antenna if repositioning and...

Chris contracts for Installs, Inc. Signed the form as Christopher Dunn. I thought he put a splitter inside and the duplexer outside, but it looks like he did both. Oh well, I get the big 4 great plus WB. UPN and TBS are fringe. You can also check your address on antennaweb.org for directing the...

I have a 57" Hitachi Ultravision for about 2 weeks and felt the same way. I was going to wait until the fall before football season to get at least an OTA professionally installed (got some quotes...$250-$400) and decided the Voom offer w/OTA is a no-brainer, but am keeping DirecTiVo for now...

Got Voom yesterday in West Cobb Co. The HD is AWESOME!!! Had Chris do the install. Did an excellent job, fished a wall ($75) and used an old Dish Network mount for the Stealth OTA and mounted the Voom on the side of the house. This guy is the QA guy for Installs, Inc and it showed. He also told...
