I have received the same Voom Uninstall program on my computer. I have Windows XP with SP2 also. You can download the program or just run the program and uninstall it as i did.

I would have to say the sale of Rainbow1 was down fall for Voom. If Mr Dolan didn't let his son sale the satellite to E* he could have raised the funds to buy Voom with some help from his friends. I too can't understand why he didn't keep a close eye on his son.

How long would it take Voom to swap there old dishes for the new Rainbow2 dishes? I don't think it's going to happen but just what do they CSR mean when they say Transitional Period? Or is this just something they need to tell all of us Subs?

I have Service Electric Cable to fall back on after May 1st but they only offer nine HD channels. They will be adding four or five more HD channels by the end of the year. It will be a sad day in my home when Voom shuts down.

I would agree if they removed some SD channels like SDTNT,SDESPN and reallocate the bandwidth across the board it would increase over all PQ. From what i have read the new encoders are really meant to be used with MPEG4.

IF they made a widescreen Sony CRT XBR larger then 34" i would run out and buy it today. As far as Vooms PQ compared to DVD or DirecTV's HD i wouldn't say it's definitely better or even a big upgrade. Some of my SuperBit DVD's look as good if not better then Voom's PQ.

Ok so they have the capacity for 15-20 more SD channels with out any viewable changes to the eye. I still would like to see the same PQ that Voom had be for the new encoders. You can't tell me that the PQ is as good as it once was.

Charper1 your right about Sony they don't make STBs for D*anymore. If you want to buy one lets say the Sony300 STB for D* you would have to buy it from E-BAY.

The DiscoveryHD channel just doesn't look as good as it did in the past to me. I have seen the Blue Angels shows two or three times on DiscoveryHD. This show just didn't have the crispness that they have had in the past. Vooms PQ was so much better befor the new Harmonic Encoders went on line...

I haven't seen any difference in PQ there is still motion artifacts and pixelation on EquatorHD and DiscoveryHD.

Walter L. your right about Voom their PQ didn't start off great. It wasn't at the level it was a month ago when they first started. When i first got Voom i didn't like the PQ at all but as time went on they got better.

I have notice some improvement with HD PQ but not as good as say a month ago.

The DicoveryHD channel is amazing when it comes down to PQ. I don't like snakes my self but the beauty of snakes PQ is great to look at.

I have noticed audio dropouts as well on a few channels. I have had them as long as i have had Voom over one year.

On Voom i would say the best PQ is HDNews and RaveHD. Local Channels for me would be ABC,PBS and Fox. CBS and NBC aren't HD were i live but in time they will be HD. When i had DirecTV the best PQ was HDNet and HD Discovery Channel. I haven't seen Cband HD or the DishNetwork HD so i can't say...
