    For what it's worth...

I completely disagree with all your points here. Voom was finally TV worth watching. I cannot be bothered with TV unless the programming is for an adult brain, is HD, and is commercial-free. That was Voom all over. It was real content worth buying an HDTV for.

    Voom on Dish isn't Voom

DarrellP I didn't know they gave you the option of a "no SD programming" package. Getting just HD for $22 a month?? How many dishes do you have to put up for that? And if I wanted to get local network HD over the D* satellite, would I need another dish? (It would be San Francisco.) Do they...

    Voom's Dead

Sounds like a new user name for me: 1080iKindaBeVuMinAgain But can't do that until I be VuMin again. I need to take at least a month off TV, see what D* says in June, visit SatGuys.US every day, and commiserate about our deceased VOOM DBS. I really want to wait for the best possible...

    Voom on Dish isn't Voom

This is only the first day. Just have to wait... let's see what E* does, and let's see what D* does. Don't panic. Yes, there are negatives about V* on E*. But 2 big plusses: DVR! and HDNet! I can't count how many threads complained about no DVR and no HDNet. Now you got 'em both with...

Voom you were great!! Voom is dead. Long live the Voom21.

Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

Well, if you don't have it planned by now, I am afraid your hopes will be dashed. Think of the test pattern as a new MOOV program.

Will you switch to Dish Network?

Waiting until websites get updated with the complete offers, and I see reports about the PQ of Voom channels on Dish. Also, I am curious about developments with DirecTV in June -- might carry Voom channels plus a bunch of other new HD channels. Probably will wait it out until I see what sticks.

Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

Yep! We will watch until that old Indian head appears... :river :river :river :river :river :river WAH!!

    Final Voom Billing??

I was wondering the same thing. I have about an extra week at the end of April -- going on right now.

Post your wish list for surviving VOOM originals (max 10)

My wish list is: EquatorHD GalleryHD HDCinema (at least FilmFestHD and WorldCinemaHD, and DocHD if they are going with that) LabHD -- okay, don't kill me. I like the TankHD and MicroHD. Those plus DiscoveryHD would be 95% of my viewing time.

Marathon Voom (IN) !!! 4/30 Till RAINBOW1 GOES OUT!

We will stick to the very last as well. On the west coast we only have to watch until 9:00 pm which will be midnight in NYC.

For Some there is an intelligent alternative !!!

A couple of great posts! BRAVO! WELL SAID! COMPLETELY AGREE! I am totally on board with these posts. Perhaps we 40,000 proud Voomers could have coordinated through SatelliteGuys.US to throw some muscle around! We might not have made an economic impact, but we could have attracted some media...

For Some there is an intelligent alternative !!!

Solid reasoning! But no OTA in my area, so I can't do that part. I will just stick with movie rentals and movie theaters until a TV programming provider earns my business again with lots of quality commercial-free HD.

A day that will live in infamy.

This needs to be said of V21 Again and again and ....

Except the Voom21 channels never had commercials to skip!!

This needs to be said of V21 Again and again and ....

Nobody has the bandwidth to deliver this much HD in real-time. But why doesn't anybody offer a next-day planner where you select the shows you want and then they get downloaded in the background in highest quality HD during the 16-to-20 hours that most people do not watch TV? This asynchronous...

This needs to be said of V21 Again and again and ....

I agree with everything Indy said, and add one more great positive of the VOOM21 - whether viewed in HD or not --- THEY ARE COMMERCIAL-FREE! And that is a big deal! GalleryHD may have been my favorite Voom channel. Where else would you get that content - HD or not - and COMMERCIAL-FREE...

Another rabbit in C. Dolan's hat?

I am still floored by Chuck Dolan's silence during the sale of the satellite in February, and then the sudden surge of energy to rescue Voom. If Chuck had a rabbit in his hat, he might have pulled it out before the sale of the satellite! I wonder, why was he so quiet during such a critical...

    Exclusives Should Have HAd Commercials

Not until the DVR was out! Then I could have forwarded through them. I would rather have seen higher fees than commercials.

May 1st where will you be? Dish, Cable or DirecTV?

Smart move! You are the first people I heard of renting the HDTV as well as the Voom stb. Had I known that Voom would go under within 12 months (we subscribed last May), I definitely would not have bought our HDTV and rented instead. There is just not enough HD out there without Voom to...

    How many out there.......

No plans for another service. Will wait a good long time AFTER Voom goes dark to see what shakes out. No way will I go with HD-Lite. I will wait for HD-DVDs from Netflix if nothing else. (I just saw an announcement for the "HD X-Box" coming out this summer!)
