    VOOM opened my eyes to the possibility of HDTV. Before VOOM came along there just wasn't enough HD content available to warrant the price of an HD television. It will be sad for all of us if they don't make it, but I think they have at least temporarily given a push to the other providers...

    Maybe so, but are they listening at all? It looks like all this talk is just venting frustration over the possibility of losing VOOM and being stuck with E*/D* forever. I'm just hoping they survive to provide some sort of alternative to what's currently available so we have a choice.

    These are all great points. What does VOOM offer that the other Sat providers don't? More HD? Problem is, most people don't have or just aren't interested in HDTV. I think they could pick up lots of subs by offering additional connections without the additional $5 charge. Also, why charge $9+...
