Baseball Season starting: Will FSFL-HD and FS-ClevelandHD be up?

I think the lack of sports programming is a significant problem for Voom - I subscribed specifically for TNT-HD during the NBA playoffs last year. This year NBA rolled around and I get TNT-HD, but there was no NBA TV in either HD or SDl, no regional sports channels, no NBA league pass. That...

VOOM Execs.. give us an outlook!!

I signed up for V* for 4 reasons - TNT-HD for the NBA - couldn't find a HD Tivo - they would fix my OTA reception problems - the additional HD premium channels - I was tired of only watching DVDs on my HD projector. The downsides were no fox sport ohio for the cavs, no DVR, and no cost...

VOOM Execs.. give us an outlook!!

I'm glad to see it's H.264 - I had wondered if they would go with that or the older H.263 that is also MPEG4. I'm all in favor of using the standard H.264 instead of the Microsoft proprietary WM9. I'd like to see one of the two bandwidth expansions go online soon - either the improved...

so now you've spent more money for less HD and can't even get the games you wanted to get that prompted your switch? Is it too late to switch back? I was able to get a refund on a recently purchased D* HD receiver and remove the associated 1 year commitment when I decided to switch to Voom for HD.

    Not good...

that's actually one of the reasons I signed up for V* - because as part of the install, they fixed my OTA problems on NBC-HD.

doesn't DirecTV's announcement sound like a Microsoft type press release where they try to convince people not to use their competitors better product because in a year or two we'll offer what they offer already? How does D* promising 150 HD channels sometime in 2007 change the fact they only...

if ST was a must have, why did you sign up with Voom in the first place? You did realize that DirecTV has an exclusive on ST, didn't you? For me, it was the reverse situation. I don't really need ST, but I watch lots of NBA and the lack of TNT-HD on DirecTV is what prompted me to try Voom...

Voom increases illegally collected sales tax.

I would imagine that if they are charging taxes in cases they shouldn't by not getting the service vs lease vs equipment issues right for all of the states, that they are just paying the taxes to the state and not using that flawed software as a revenue source. It's also amazing to me how...

Voom increases illegally collected sales tax.

it's not allow, it's require - and you don't have to be incorporated in the state, you have to simply be licensed to do business in that state. And isn't voom owned by a national cable company, thus would be licensed to do business in all states? that makes them different than the other...

Voom increases illegally collected sales tax.

if a company is licensed to do business in a state, they have to collect sales tax. A satellite company is different than a typical mail order company in that they actually send people representing the company to people's houses in every state they do business. I just checked - DirecTV adds...

if they sell services in your state, how can it be illegal to collect sales tax?
