Flannigan's Ball is a Decent song, but the esoteric nuances wouldn't translate to someone who is not from Eastern MA. At least they didn't put out the two overplayed and incredibly tired "hits" (that annoying "shippin off to Boston" and "State of Mass..." songs).

I think they will be around for quite a while, just based on the number of games people already have in thier collection (especially with sketchy PS3 backwards-compatibility...). With them selling @ $99, my kids could break 4 of them before a PS3 would be paid for!

Well that certainly is some misplaced anger. It is GH that is c-blocking the issue. RB is 100% all for amking all the games and guitars compatible, but GH is doing the sour grapes thing...

Try playing "Electric Eye" on expert. That track is insane... Anyhow, since the company that developed GH and RB is based out of Boston, I would assume that we will continue to see some DLC for classic Boston "Alterno" bands (such as the Pixies).

Are you playing it on a X360 or PS3? I'll definitely keep an eye out for it Used or On-Sale. I still have 3 games to play through at the moment anyhow.

Nearly all of the customer reviews I have read said the game is junk. A lot of the graphics supposedly are low-quality PS2 stuff, and the general playability is not up to par with other X360 & PS3 titles. The concept is good, so I might pick up a used copy in a few months.

Sounds like more desperate attempts by Sony to justify the sill $500 price tag. Maybe if they included TWO controllers it would be a bargain, and I might consider grabbing it since MSG4 is going to be fun.

Time will tell. They did delay it 3 months to tweak it, and that is a LOT of development time. So I am hopefull, since the game has a good concept. If it stinks, I will just pick it up in 6 months when it is $19.99...

Halo3 is a blast (no pun intended). BioShock is cool too, if you want something different and creepy. COD4 is pretty darn nifty, and really hot if you want to do online play.

You can never have too many consoles. Everybody in my house (5 people) likes to play. At the moment we have: X360, PS2 and a GameCube. With all that, we still have times when people are arguing over the systems. I am thinking of getting a Wii or PS3 next, to ease tensions:D.

Monoprice Rules! I am an engineer, who occasionally designs cable assemblies for my products. And I can say with 100% certainty that the monoprice stuff will perform a good as any monstercable snake-oil bullcrap.

Also, price will always tend to go down. You can always eventually go "platform neutral" with a competing console, when the price point reaches your comfort level.

I broke my decision down to 3 main thinking points: 1) Which system has the "must have exclusives" that I want? 2) Do I really care about Blu-Ray? 3) Which offers better online play? Think about those three, and how much weight each holds to you.

She still has yet to take it, I think she takes it in March or April. She is stressed out about it, but I think she will be OK (she passed 2 out of 3 of the other licenses the first time).

Same thing happened to my wife with the Guitar Hero series. She would tell me that she was leaving work early to study for her stock brokerage licenses, once I came home early and she has been playing GH the whole time. A few mornings she has been nearly late for work from it too.

That would be my biggest concern. I would only recommend buying it new, as the newer units should be less problematic; and I would get it from a place that offers and "in store full replacement" warranty (BB has it for $60). OTOH, I also know of some people who haven't had a single problem...
