Just switched from Dish Network to Comcast...

I have Comcrap and I have numerous problems with them freezing pixilating stuttering and to top it off the compression is so bad I have SD DVD's that look as good as most of their HD not many but the compression kills it. I would switch back if I could get line of sight. Grrr!

    SA 8300HD Problems

I just swapped mine out. I have been having tons of problems with my old one. Mostly hard drive related. It just wouldn't die. It kept spitting up blood but wouldn't die! My new one works great but it takes longer to pull the channel up than the other one did.

    8300HDC SATA Drive Question

I don't know that the port is even enabled. This is an option in the maintenance menu that says something about it. I have that model number hold select and info? or exit at the same time on the unit it self and it will go into diagnostic mode. You can search for any channels in testing that...

DIRECTV to Launch Tennis Channel HD

That should be funny to watch. 14/15 matches in glorious blurry upconverted ugly. (Not that it wasn't ugly before being upconverted.) Tennis is one of those sports that even national networks cbs\nbc barely sink any money into making them HD. Even in early in a Grand Slam. I hope this...

    New HD channels?

Yelling it on top of the rooftops "We are live with TBS HD in Shreveport"

    TBS HD is Coming

Just had TBS HD turned on in Shreveport, La. We are typically very late on channels. I might actually like Comcast better than Time Warner now that they have switched :)

    Comcast vs satellite

I have been saying that for a while. They don't have quantity compared to others but they do look better than dish and prior to recent comments on DirectTV's mpeg4 I could say the same for DirectTV.

"a significant expansion of HD channels in the coming months"

As with all companies in this field. I will believe it when I see it.

Comcast Digital Cable Down in Louisiana and SE

For the communities that have switched over from Time Warner to Comcast they have completely dropped the ball. After the time change the HD DVR showed the wrong time. I like many thousands of others pulled the plug and got the unit to do a hard reboot. Well since the switch they didn't...

    Comcast/boston adds VSGLF-HD, ESPN2-hd

Is it me or can anyone justify putting in VSGLF-HD. There is next to no HD programing on the whole channel. The bandwidth could have been better used for other currently available channels. Any HD is HD worth having but not if it isn't really HD!

    QAM digital cable

What frequency are you searching for that is in the range of on Demand units? I haven't read that at all. I have blindly flumpped through the 500 to 750 mhz range which most of my regular channels seem to reside but I haven't run accross any onDemand feeds. Obviously I would have to catch it...

    QAM digital cable

What might be more? My curiousity is peaked. What have you heard and what companies where involved? ;) News like that always interest me!

They are switching in the Shreveport area also and we are anxiously awaiting anything new. I will also report back.

Dayton, OH: Are SA8300 DVRs Redily Available?

The 8300 has a recently installed firmware bug in it that causes it to speraticly freeze when you are trying to access the dvr. It sucks I have been credited for three months of DVR service due to the length of time this has been going on.

    Time Warner VS. Dish TV

I agree that TWC is more expensive. Almost unreasonably so... That being said they do have better picture quality the channels that count most to me and the HDDVR issue. They will get ESPN 2 before too long anything else is waiting in vein for now... My Apt complex has all but banned...

    Time Warner VS. Dish TV

I switched over a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. I really didn't care for dishs quality. Picture was not sharp at all. HD is the same soft compared to OTA although if you can receive those you already know what I am talking about. The picture quality is much better for HD...

    Everybody Email TWC

Just a few questions. Who is this guy? How can he affect the HD channels they have? How can he affect all of the outlet (smaller markets) and the time frame in which they get them? If he can just let me know :)

thinking of switch back to TWC

I changed from Dish to TWC almost a year ago due to my foreseeing problems with dish and not being satisfied with the soft picture quality. TWC is much better all the way around except for the analog channels but honestly it doesn't bother me. I know what to expect from analog. HD is...
