Bad weather NFL Games you recall

The "Fog Bowl" playoff game... Philadelphia at Chicago, 1988.

ESPN Actually Wants to Broadcast a Super Bowl

Of course people watch ESPN. I don't think that is up for debate. However, the main point is that more people have access to CBS, NBC, FOX, and ABC than have access to ESPN. Generally speaking, unless you don't have a TV (with reception), you have access to the networks. Having access to...

ESPN Actually Wants to Broadcast a Super Bowl

Yeah. I think the rights to the SB are negotiated along with the NFL regular season games--at least for the main NFC and AFC broadcast networks (currently FOX and CBS respectively). Obviously the Sunday night winner must get something too if NBC has had it recently and will have it again in...

    The Dodgers Season is Over

Teams go through bad stretches every season. To say the season is over, while still in first place by 4.5 games mind you, is ridiculous. Granted, being in Chicago (and a White Sox fan at that) I can't say I watch many Dodgers games. However, I'm going to say Torre knows what he's doing more...

    MLB announcers thread

Most of the announcers in Chicago are "homers." Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, Cubs, Sox... radio and tv. However, Harrelson (White Sox tv) and Santo (Cubs radio) are arguably two of the biggest "homers" you'll find. Watching sports in Chicago, I guess you kind of tune it out because you are so...

    AL CENTRAL

Realistically, even with myself being a White Sox fan, I don't think they will repeat as division champs. I think it's Detroit's division to lose and Cleveland right there. Both of their offenses are talented enough to play with anyone. Detroit needs Verlander and their bullpen to bounce back...

    NFL screws the Pats

This is a non-issue. As Herm Edwards (former Jets coach) said, "You play to win the game!" Regardless if the Jets have anything to play for, they will still play to win. I see where you are coming from, but I don't agree that the Jets will automatically lose if they have "nothing to play for."

Chicago Bulls (Jordan-era) Radio broadcast games...

Jim Durham would have had the first three championships and before as it's his call you hear when you see Jordan hit the buzzer beater from near the free throw line against the Cavs in the playoffs. I believe it would have been Neil Funk for the second set of three championships and going...

When Did Sportscenter Jump The Shark?

Chris Myers went to Fox Sports. Rich Eisen to NFL Network. Keith Olberman to MSNBC. Dan Patrick to syndicated radio and Sports Illustrated. Charlie Steiner is doing play-by-play for the Dodgers. Jack Edwards to Versus. I'm sure there are plenty others I'm missing... This is a good chunk of...

    NCAA Football 2007-08

Ohio St. lost at home to a then unranked Illinois. Missouri lost on the road to Oklahoma. West Virginia lost on the road to a then ranked South Florida. Not saying they are better teams than Ohio St., just saying a reason why Mizzou and WV should get first place votes over OSU.

    NCAA Football 2007-08

BCS will probably be something like this: 1. Missouri/WV 2. WV/Missouri 3. Ohio St. 4. Georgia 5. Virginia Tech 6. USC 7. LSU 8. Kansas 9. Oklahoma 10. Florida It depends where all of the former LSU first place votes from last week go to this week. Between the two human polls...
