This year when Texas Tech came back from 31 points down to beat Minnesota in the Insight Bowl, it was the largest comeback in college bowl history. 1) Who had the previous largest comeback? (easy) 2) The Minnesota collapse cost coach Glen Mason his job. Who lost their job as a result of...

I smell recruiting violations fo USC

Correct. He played as a true freshman. He did not redshirt. USC didn't benefit. He was already in school and headed for his junior year when they "rented" the house. I agree that schools use these athletes and then dispose of them. Something needs to be done. Academic scholarships can...

    Jimmy Rollins

Of course, you making the assumption his streak doesn't get to 93. Then he would own both records. I'm pulling for him for no other reason than there will be less talk about Bonds.

D* makes its debut as primary sponsor this weekend - NASCAR!

D* makes it debut as the primary sponsor of the #07 DirecTV Chevrolet driven by Clint Boyer. Its Martinsville, so the car won't look like that after the race. Photo linked from www.jayski.com If you like NASCAR, give Jayski a try. Lots of good info.

First of 3 weekends - No NASCAR!

These Idiots Are Going To Kill The Golden Goose

Maybe, but the players have more to lose than the owners. While a few high spending owners will make a few players happy, many other owner's will close their wallets and I predict the overall salary level will go down or remain the same. The players will lose $320 million right off the top in...

When did DW drive the Tide car for Hendrick? He was driving the Tide car when he won Daytona in 1989 wasn't he? Ricky left Hendrick in 1995? Did he move to the Tide car when DW left?

    The 2006 Daytona 500

It seems like he added some clamps to the panyard bar so that when it was raised (legal adjustment after inspection) it would also raise the rear window glass. Very ingenious, got to give him that.

    The 2006 Daytona 500

He modified the rear window to raise up after inspection to provide better aero. It was caught during post-qualifying inspection. Its one thing to exploit gray areas of the rules, like Chad did with the shocks last fall and NASCAR even wrote a rule against it after the fact, but what he did...

    The 2006 Daytona 500

It was good for us as fans, but I'm not sure the drivers cared for it that much. Yes you could go from 30th to the front in 2 laps, but that also meant 30+ cars were all in one bunch.

    The 2006 Daytona 500

WOO-HOO! Jimmie Johnson's crew chief got tossed from Daytona. For cheating!:D More penalties may follow next week. I know cheating has always been a prt of NASCAR, so I really don't care he that he tried, just happy he got caught.:) On a different note, did anyone else hear Tony...

The second Texas date (fall race) came from the Rock. Texas got its first race and Louden its second when Bruton Smith and Bob Bahre bought N. Wilksboro in 1996 for $14M (Smith paid $6, Bahre paid $8) and gave the dates to their respective tracks. As to Darlington losing a date, that blame...

    Nascar and TV

Louden has two races because a southern track (N. Wilksboro) was bought and its dates shipped off to NH and Texas. I think that N. Wilksboro had it done what Bristol and Richmond did, it would be one of the most popular tracks today.

Its not because of the wins as much as the way he wins and how he acts after he wins. He gets out of the car and almost apoligizes for having a good car. Too goody two shoes for me. Plus I guess I am more Old School from the day when the guys who drove actually worked on the car. I don't...

Jr. doesn't do anything for me either way. As for his dad, I fell into the "Cheered when he crashed, cried when he died" category. I liked him as a person, but not as a driver. A couple of his titles should/could have been Rusty's. Especially 1994 when a broken bolt at Phoenix cost him the...
