DPP Seperator..... how close or far???

I already have 2 drops going to the receiver now. Anyhow, I think I am going to use the seperator at the receiver and use the other drop to back feed the 9242 to another TV in the house. Kryspy

DPP Seperator..... how close or far???

Thanks, My reason is that I have coax joined in my drop ceiling already with high quality barrel connectors. Putting the seperator there would just mean one less connection for me and therefore possible loss in signal. Kryspy

DPP Seperator..... how close or far???

Hi, I am upgrading my ExpressVU 9242 (722 ish) to a DPP Twin and DPP seperator. Can I place the seperator say in my drop ceiling with like 12-15 feet of coax after it or does it need to be really close to the back of the receiver with only say a foot of coax off each side? Kryspy

    Canadian Question

I know for a fact that the purchase of Dish or Directv equipment isn't illegal in Canada. I It is only the reception that is illegal. I know it sounds absurd but it is true. They are more than happy to allow you to pay duty on the equipment....... there I said it again :) Kryspy

    Canadian Question

Customs doesn't care about equipment brought into Canada. Simply claim it and pay the duty. Kryspy

    $200 deposit for no SSN

Hi, Thanks for the clarification. Thought it be best to hear it from people who actually live in the US. I'd be going through a broker and that is what he told me in an e-mail that was as clear as mud. Thanks again for the clarification. Kryspy

    $200 deposit for no SSN

Hi, Canadian here planning a move to Dish in the summer. I hear they charge a $200 US deposit for not providing a social security number? If so does this act as a credit and comes off of your monthly billing or does it remain in their hands as a security deposit? Thanks in advance...

You Can Help! Add 3ABN to Dish

Religion isn't entertainent and has no place being crammed down peoples throats as a must carry in the basic package as the original poster indicated. Add it a la carte and that is different. Kryspy

    Channel Logos

stellar832000, You'd love Starchoice then up here in Canada. Wow I miss them; wait no I don't as I watch TV for the programing and that's why I went with ExpressVU. Starchoice have logos in their channel guide and onscreen; they would fit the Directv bill also in the fact that they too...

TIVO wins E* Lawsuit - Potential Impact on ALL DVRs

Stargazer, That is unsure for us up here in Canada. It may cause a premium to be applied to the price we pay for the ExpressVU 9200 receivers. Tivo, unless they want to have their case heard in Canada really cannot affect any levies to us who already own and use the 9200 (942)...

Are E*** CSR's really incompetent or do they do it on purpose?

Makes me laugh, Reminds me of CSR roullette for ExpressVU up here in Canada. In order to get a CSR who has english as their top 2 languages you have to press "2" for french and then when connected just start speaking english and they are at least bilingual and from this continent. Kryspy

Can I Really Do This With My 622?!?!

Hi, Yes. The 942 will do it as well. In fact you can record those 3 at once and watch a show previously recorded off the HD. Kryspy

TiVo New Priceing and Dish Patent Infringement

Tivo's only future is to align themselves with the likes of Microsoft or even a LINUX platform and develop products for the HTPC market. I never saw the whole TIVO attraction. As a Northern cousin who had Directv way back when I bought a DireTivo off of ebay and it was as slow as mollases...

    Possible Northern Dishnetwork Cousin

Okay, So basically it looks like I will need 110,119 and 129 to get all HD channels. Life seems easier with ExpressVU as I only have 2 satellites so far :) Kryspy

    Possible Northern Dishnetwork Cousin

Hi, I am thinking of subbing to Dishnetwork up in Canada and HD is a huge thing for me. If going with either a 622 or a 211 with a Pocketdish where will my HD channels come from ? My locals off air are from Buffalo if that gives any idea as to where I am located. Are all HD channels...
