FYI....I have been told by 3 different CSR that eastern arc is not available currently at my ADDRESS. I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago (one of the first DMA's). So although they list them, not everyone will be covered in them.

Gold costs $10/mo for 38 channels, equating to about .26cents per channel. Platinum costs $10/mo for 7 channels equating to about $1.42 per channel. Does anyone else see a problem with that? I can see charging $4.99 like DTV's extra pack, but $10?

Will there be an inherent advantage to being on the eastern arc as opposed to the western? HD and Local HD? Less equipment (dishes)? IF I can't get Dish to push my install date back to allow for the new dish and such, I'll just cancel the order and call back after the 20th. I'd also assume...

If I go for a HD only pack (gold + platinum) with locals and HBO/Starz; how many dishes are they gonna install? My wife may hate me for this, she likes Oxygen :rolleyes:, but atleast she still has her lifetime. Only channels I may miss in SD is FX and Spike.

I want to switch to dish from cable, but the uncertainty regarding HD absolute and Turbo HD has me confused. My cable bill is @125/mo, so either HD only will be a savings. lol
