EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I worked in one old tall building with Boost Infinite and my reception wasn't that good. Worked by an exterior wall. We moved recently into a different old(er) tall building, I'm not that far from an exterior wall and my reception is just fine. I don't know if they improved things, because I do...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

*ponders Alaska having 75% land mass coverage of cell phone towers* :D

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

75% means many things. 75 out 100. It is an average grade in school, while it is approaching a 1 to 1 grade for a road. 75% isn't common in elections and usually is only for zoo or park levies.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

So lenders are shifting loans to Dish/Echostar potentially with the spectrum leveraged because of the first amendment. I woulf have guessed Ergen has something ready to announce that will indicate a more sustainable revenue stream via the 5G and network he has laid out.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Well, that article did a good job copying the other articles on the subject. Ergen's future remains tied to the monetization of the 5G network. That is where the growth in revenue is available. With revenue growth comes lending viability and the issue of debt starts to fade. The questions...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Hearing what? It is a three paragraph post on a blog, that vaguely references Bloomberg as a source, with no link. And the end of the post says: "There is this far no formal comment from either business." which makes the article title CLICKBAIT.

EchoStar Completes Nationwide Drive Test for Boost Wireless Network, Completing All 2023 FCC Commitments

Great, now they need to monetize it and get large buckets of money, which will make lenders more likely to lend.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I think they were asking about the Celero 5G+, not Boost Infinite. Boost Infinite for me has been very good. The reviews for the Celero 5G+ have been a bit mixed. Underpowered, but it isn't as expensive as the top tier phones. I decided to go with the Samsung A23, as I was anxious about...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Yes Bruce, that was my point. Thanks for making it for me... again. I'll do it one more time. Dish went from no mobile company to 4th largest mobile company quite suddenly.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Cool, I have one of the only ones. :D... if they ever do something with the Network. It is odd that the A23 is, but the high end Samsung that they'll give you the latest model every year, isn't. Part of me wonders whether that list is a little bit old. Personally, I'm not certain why Boost...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Yeah, talk to Sinclair about that. Debt got more expensive quite quickly. That impacted the calculus. And their cellular rank was what in 2016? Based on Dish's cellular ranking change between 2016 and 2024, I'd say he does have at least some idea what he is doing. And I typically wait for...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

One word, interest rates. Wait, two words! Dish is the third or fourth largest mobile company at the moment. Clearly hr had some idea of his plan. I'm with Scott regarding the lack of monetizing of the 5G. And while 5G didn't get us cold fusion, I wouldn't say it hasn't had an impact on mobile...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Isn't there an issue regarding the number of devices that can actually use the netwotk? Or was that a former problem?

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

He needs money. He has 5G, he needs to make money using it. It is the only way it works. Dish is about 20,000% further along with the 5G network and mobile cell service than anyone thought possible 10 yrs ago. His problem however was he didn't include a pandemic and the supply chain hiccups turn...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Obviously bills need to be paid, but what is the 5G plan looking like? Is that full blown rollout inevitable? Boost Infinite is out there, but that is partnering with a good deal of other providers.

What’s keeping you guys with Dish Network…

Over the longest period of time Dish has provided me options to have a reduced bill while getting what I wanted most. From Latino Dos to Welcome Pack (which came with free TCM by accident :D) to Flex. Also, they have offers for premiums all the time for me (and likely many others). Their Chat...

Recommendation to Dish - Dump Hopper+ and Rembrace Virtual Joey

DA is like one of those too good to be true things. It works for me, and then it doesn't. Once it starts buffering, have to step out. Needing to go out and back in seems ridiculously unnecessary if you are doing it inside your home.

Republic Wireless shutting down as Dish moves customers over to Boost Infinite

My SIM card went wonky on my Boost Mobile phone (Samsung A23). I did all the normal stuff. Reboot, turn off reboot, turn off / remove card / re-enter card, reset network, reset the darn phone. None of it worked. Went on the Boost app, did a chat, got in contact with someone on Friday evening...

DISH Releases 21 James Bond Flicks in 4K for Holiday Binge-Watching

Rip them, use a plex server. I don't play any of my discs. They are all ripped and streamed from my Plex at no additional compression than they are on the disc. Poor man's Netflix, but in my case, I watch everything on it. I don't like buying digital alone because there is no warranty for the...

Republic Wireless shutting down as Dish moves customers over to Boost Infinite

I think Boost Infinite equates the two terms, and call it Hot Spot. It is $10 a month on Boost Infinite. I've been with Boost Infinite for nearly a year and have been quite happy. As I noted, the North America connect plan was awesome for me in the Escarpment in Bruce Peninsula. Boost Infinite...
