If they do a re-launch, I hope they have the biggest bugs swatted and, perhaps more importantly, the functional deficiencies fully addressed as the Hopper+ hasn't been a shining example of DISH design and implementation.

    Comcast and Hopper3

DISH isn't fighting with CBS. DISH is doing battle with Terrier Media which owns and operates KIRO. This is why it is dangerous to oversimplify or omit details from your setup.

Is there a coaxial output from the Comcast box? I don't think they offer a box that modulates an HD broadcast channel. The Hopper only accepts DISH satellite and Digital Television (DTV aka ATSC) signals (through the DISH OTA adapter). You can't do a "line in" or streaming input. You're...

The only way around it would be if the household were part of an MDU. It isn't free, it is just rolled into the rent. Getting local from Comcast typically involves both lifeline service and a $27+ broadcast channel fee. I suppose that it is possible that the local franchise agreement demands...

This would be in conflict with their General Policies (second bullet): I see small dogs in my local Costco most every visit. It is notable that when purchasing online, you can use Mastercard and Discover credit cards.

My brother in law in the Bay Area buys his Canadian Mist in plastic bottles at his favorite gas station. He can get gas (but not boat gas), U-hauls, booze and cheap day labor all in one place (they offer cigarettes as well).

Only of the <=12% variety. In Oregon, only state-approved liquor stores are allowed to sell the hard stuff. I can't say I've ever been to a Costco that sells anything to people without memberships. That includes gasoline.

They took my membership card when I first used my Costco VISA. I'm not one of those types that builds my budget on coupons, rebates and gift cards. That's just too much work given the value that I place on my time. I use them where I can but I don't allow them to drive how I shop.

    What is ATV?

Since I have a Costco VISA, I don't have a conventional membership card. I suppose I could flash my Costco VISA and pay with a different card but that's not really worth the trouble since I usually buy things other than groceries as well. Credit card discount programs will always be a YMMV thing.

My preference is finding the right combination of discounts rather than packing a wad of different credit cards into my wallet. Admittedly, my largest monthly financial drain (other than health insurance) is Costco for gas and groceries.

Don't blame the industries for using TLAs. I choose to blame Morse Code. ;) They're handy shortcuts for obfuscatory terminology often used to exclude those outside the community and that's been part of the operation of US-based governments and military branches for much longer than all-terrain...
