Dish / Gannett Dispute Settled! No Channel Removals!

I hope that Dish didn't have to make any concessions in this deal. If they did then I'm against it. Gannett didn't deserve even one red cent more for their programming. In fact, they should be paying Dish to carry their stations. The more exposure they get the more they can charge for their...

Dish / Gannett Dispute Settled! No Channel Removals!

We used to get by a few years ago with only three or four channels. Now people who can get hundreds of channels are complaining when they lose one channel. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Dish / Gannett Dispute Settled! No Channel Removals!

Screw the local businesses. If we weren't so swamped with commercials it would be different. Viacom is adding an extra nine minutes to some of their half hour programs just so they can add nine more minutes of commercials. And on many channels sometimes you can see ten or more commercials in a...

Dish adds Glenn Beck's The Blaze to its Top 250 Package

Nobody is saying we "need" it. And for that matter we don't even "need" a satellite TV subscription and we don't need ESPN or HBO or Fox News or MSNBC either. It's not about need. It's about Dish Network making a business decision. Apparently in their opinion adding the Blaze is a good move for...

Dish adds Glenn Beck's The Blaze to its Top 250 Package

Of course you don't have to like anything if you don't want to. But a lot of people enjoy political propaganda and they should be able to watch it if they want to just as you have the right to avoid it if you want to. And this applies to political propaganda coming from either side of the...

DISH Network Launches (Then Removes) The Weather Cast

I'm glad to see then drop TWC. I want weather, not stories about storms or movies and Al Roker doesn't do a thing for me. I hope that Directv drops them too.

More Bad News HBO sues echostar

If you can't live w/o HBO then you need to get a life. For gosh sakes, it's just a frigging TV network, not the second coming of Christ. Maybe you should try reading a book.

    Court tv?

I won't miss Court TV one bit. It had too many commercials and all it played in the evening was reruns of shows that I've seen already. So I say good riddance to it.

Lifetime Gets Backup in EchoStar Spat

Nope, Oxygen has way too many reruns and it seems to have a commercial break every five minutes. They can keep that channel, thank you very much.

    OTA vs Satellite Reception

If you are in an area where you can get good line of sight reception with an OTA you are always going to get better reception IMO. Neither satellite nor cable TV can match it. They can come close but that's it.

Why isn't FX in Top 60?

I don't know what is so good about that channel. Most of it's programming is reruns of programs that were already on network TV that I have seen already. Plus, they have way too many commercial interruptions. They certainly aren't worth it.
