I know on D* if the signal drops thats all. DVR will even just drop the dead air, you get nothing but a warning when you start the recording that some or all of the show did not record...

That channel is just horrible no matter what. Seems like they are a low budget channel. Always had a bad picture since before it was a cw channel...

Really all the carriers have this issue nowadays. Its not just E* , D* just got done with a similar dispute. And its the same story every year.

It is true that HDCP content is only usable on HDMI and DVI compliant connections. All the devices in the chain have to be HDCP compliant for the signal to be processed. I am going to do a little experiment tomorrow and see which channels (on D* that is) don't pop up with the old yellow video...
