    Why are you so sure he didn’t? Not a lot of prospective candidates out there. The Synergy is obvious. Not a big boost to Dish video, I suspect. Unless there is another video delivery media planned.

    I’ve never had a messenger on any of my Dish installs. Of course, none of them were grounded. I’d say if you can stop the hum, call it a day.

    THERE ARE NO NEW VIP722 Series receivers. Nor, for that matter, Hoppers. But the ViP722s are all very old. If yours is dying, why do you think others are I. Better shape?

    BTW, a Hopper (& if you go that route, accept ONLY a Hopper 3) will read and play EHD recordings from a ViP722 series receiver. A Wally, another option, will not.
