Effective June 3, 2010, DISH Network will change pricing on select services.

I agree that a coupla' bucks isn't a bad hit for the new HD channels.

TCM HD looks fuzzier than its SD counterpart

I'm watching 2001 and it looks pretty soft.

    KQED San Francisco

I've tried the best OTH antennas. The position of my roof in relation to the surrounding roofs makes OTH reception impossible.

    KQED San Francisco

I know that some areas of the US still don't receive local channels in HD. That sucks. However, big markets like San Francisco still get PBS in only SD. Any thoughts on the future? KQED in HD would be so cool.

    Missing Indie and Retro HD

No, Bobby, I'm still confused. Having run through the previous post "What's with HD channels letterboxing in 4:3" I now know that the phenomenon I described is really "pillarboxing." Despite all the abstract explanations I still don't understand why a theatrically released wide screen movie...

    Missing Indie and Retro HD

Thank you "old corps" and "Volmaul." Guess I missed these channels in the All HD guide list.

    Missing Indie and Retro HD

I have America's Top 250 with HD & Platinum. I have found five of the new HD channels (don't have Showtime) but can't find the new Retro and Indie channels. Can anyone help? Thanks.:o

    VIP 722 Favorites List Options

I searched for this topic and couldn't find anything. Sorry if this is a duplicate. About a week ago I noticed a change in my VIP 722 Guide. Now, instead of just flipping through the various favorites lists with the button, I see a "Favorites List Options" page requiring me to pick one. I...

DISH NETWORK® LIGHTS UP MORE NATIONAL HD CHANNELS

Wow. I just discovered that Charlie added KRON HD to our Bay Area locals yesterday. This station is in bankruptcy. Outside of a pretty good news department they show cheapo syndicated programs like "Entertainment Tonight" and "Dr Phil."

DISH NETWORK® LIGHTS UP MORE NATIONAL HD CHANNELS

I'm totally underwhelmed by these additions. BET Jazz is crummy old SD videos and the other three channels are just tiny expansions of premium channels to which I do not subscribe.

A Dish oversight, intended confusion or deception - you decide.

    Dish is now incomprehensibly complicated.

DISH is having a banner week.

I think Dish is purposely confusing it's customers with all this ridiculous programming complexity. I'm fed up with this crazy sh*t.

    KQED HD San Francisco

I can't receive the ota San Francisco HD PBS channel, or any other ota channel due to the surrounding topography. What is the possibility that Dish will add this? Thank you.:hungry:

    What's your SD Viewing Preference?

Reddice, your comment is pathetically misinformed. I have a fantastic Panasonic plasma and am by no means uneducated. I watch virtually no SD.

No Pay Per View Freebies with 722?

Wow, I never expected an angry s++tstorm from some of you. Frankly I thought this was simply a "gimmie" trial offered to all 211 users. I surely didn't hack anything.

No Pay Per View Freebies with 722?

All I know is right now I'm watching "Hairspray" on ch 9465 through the 211and I'm not paying for it.:D

    VIP722 humming noise

My first VIP 722 made a wicked racket. I noticed it immediately the morning after they installed it. After several customer service calls they sent me a new unit. The difference in sound level is extreme. The replacement is barely audible, much more quiet. Sure, with my ear next to it I can...

No Pay Per View Freebies with 722?

A few months ago I Dished it Up with a VIP722. The installer took their 311 but I saved the 211 for my second SD bedroom tv, anticipating an eventual HDTV replacement. When the 211 was my primary receiver I enjoyed free Pay Per Views on channel 9465. I still do, in SD. The...

    VIP722 Hard Drive Noise

Thank you. The issue became more interesting tonight when I installed the replacement 722 UPS delivered only four hours ago. Unbelievably but thankfully the new unit is WAY more quiet! No comparison. Sure, it emits a tiny sound but nothing as intrusive as the 722 it replaced. The CSRs agreed...

    VIP722 Hard Drive Noise

I've had a VIP722 for two weeks and still can't get past the subtle whirring sound coming from it both powered and on "standy." The CSRs say that the unit is always "on" but that it shouldn't make an audible sound from six feet away. I hear the thing the minute I walk into the viewing area in...
