    I live in Wheeling WV

Well that stinks! Guess I had better work on flipping my Dish customers over DirecTV; or mention "moving"

    I live in Wheeling WV

At the risk of sounding ignorant, I occasionally do installs down around that neck of the woods. When AND why did Dish yank those locals???????

    Dish 1000.2 Question

With the 50' of cable you will be fine. Your HD programming is coming off of the 129. So the EA1000.2 dish is perfect BTW....welcome to SatGuys. :-)

    Service Restored to 129 Satellite!

I tried the troubleshooting route for about 20 minutes and said, "screw it" and tried call DNS. As soon as I realized all numbers...and I mean EVERY SINGLE FREAKING NUMBER...was coming up busy, right then and there I knew something was up. Props to Scott and this site, because it was then I...

    Service Restored to 129 Satellite!

Funny you mention that. That was the EXACT thing that did happen. Have been installing DirecTV exclusively and finally managed to get a local retailer to work with me and my D* schedule. Hell of a welcome back to installing Dish, huh? LOL

    Meter Question

Before it breathed its last breath, my Acutrac III+ was a cheap and inexpensive way to aim both the 1000.2 and 1000.4. It also works with the non-SWM KaKu slimlines from Direct. But...and this is a crucial one...if you can afford it, the Super Sat Buddy is *THE* way to go.

How are these signal readings? 119/110/129

Those are GREAT signals. To answer a prior poster, yes Ohio (Cleveland)is an EA market...but you can "get by" using the 129. Upon further noticing, the OP lives in the Youngstown market (looks like Columbiana county) so the 1K.2 is just fine

Dish switching from 4 leased tuners to 6!!!!!

Not correct with the tuner count. E* has a 4 tuner max. So in theory at least, a person currently can lease 4 612's. Now if it's bumped to 6 tuners *and* there will be one all-inclusive DVR fee, the 612 solution would make more sense than before. But, some of that DVR savings will be...

Dish switching from 4 leased tuners to 6!!!!!

My understanding was that the 612 counted as a single tuner. Was that incorrect on my part?

RIGHT! And what's the yellow cable supposed to be...a ground? If so, good luck explaining THAT to your insurance adjuster

This is why both the 500+/1000+ and all SuperDishes are larger than any other dish E* has.

I *think* the "F" appendage is related to the fact that it's a FSS satellite. Maybe? Perhaps? Grasping at straws? LOL

    1 output only for Birdog

It shouldn't hurt anything, with regards to the LNB and system, if you leave the second lead hanging. You may want to consider at least taping or somehow sealing that loose fitting. If left outside to the elements, it will eventually corrode.

    Dish 500

Yes it will work. Drop your elevation by about 3 degrees and swing the azimuth by about 10 (have done it a few times by accident :p )

just got dish dvr not working

211 receiver, you say? There's your problem. That particular model is only an HD receiver with no on-board DVR capabilities.
