Each to his own. I like some of it. But the main point is to have Dish have their own 4k channel, they don't have to program it like Directv's channel.

I sure wish Dish would put up a full time 4k channel that isn't sports. A full time entertainment channel like Directv has.

It could be anything in the chain that causes the content to not actually be 4k: cameras, switching system and feed to it, the output of the board, or the feed to the remote truck that is sending it to the satellite that is distributing it to broadcaster. The switching boards of many companies...

I have the Hopper 3 but found out that 540 is part of some sports package. I don't have any of those, just movie channels.

What's it take to get channel 540?

Most boards for the past 10 yrs have had wide enuff bandwidth to handle 4k. Now the cameras only fairly recently have been up to it. Some transmission and uplinks have only been upgraded.

So funny I forgot to laugh.

Then you haven't seen real 4k or your equipment doesn't display it or display it well. Possibly your 4k upconverts 1080 so well that it is doing it's job so it's undetectable in it's difference. I've seen 4k that one could see individual blades of grass while a deer ate 100 or more yards away.
