Significantly Viewed (DIRECTV calls them Neighboring Channels)

Could never figure it out. Almost as confusing as sports blackouts! LOL. Posted Via The FREE SatelliteGuys Reader App!

Significantly Viewed (DIRECTV calls them Neighboring Channels)

It seems in CT, that D* might use zip codes for SV determination. When I lived in Naugatuck, ( New Haven county), I received CBS2 from New York. When I moved to Wolcott, (New Haven county), CBS 2 was removed. My next door neighbor in Naugatuck moved at the same time to Terryville (Litchfield...

    Directv doesn't want a HR-24-100 receiver back?

When I cancelled D* back in April the CSR said they didn't want any of my receivers back (HR24, H23, and H21). A few days later a box arrived with a note that they wanted the HR24 and the H23. They only wanted the access card for the H21. Apparently CSRs don't always have the most up to date...

DIRECTV reaches deal with Tribune (Or maybe not!)

I find it kind of ironic as I watch NASCAR on my local Fox station OTA that D had a banner ad on the scoring stream but I can't watch the race in HD on DTV. (I could watch it in SD on NY 5 if desired!) Sent from my iPad using SatelliteGuys

Directv Question (extra fee for markets with 2+ RSN's)?

I wondered about that too. When I lived in Naugatuck I got the MSG's. For some reason Waterbury and Wolcott don't. Same with channel 2 WCBS as significantly viewed. Sent from my iPad using SatelliteGuys

Directv Question (extra fee for markets with 2+ RSN's)?

Just got my Feb bill. No $2 extra charge. Where I am in CT we get YES, SNY, NESN, and I believe CSNE. Sent from my iPad using SatelliteGuys

Lockout is lifted, who is keeping NFL ST this year?

Cancelled my ST. I just can't justify the price anymore - even with the $120 off that I received last year. I was really suprised that they didn't even try to keep me, just a no hassle cancellation.

YES Network Being Dropped? (Agreement reached 4/7)

Amen to that. I hope they come to an agreement without resorting to dropping YES. I won't watch all 122 games on YES, but certainly a significant number.

Quick Question about Whole Home DVR setup

I also have the HR 24 with a H21 (and H23). I believe you would only need the DECA unit for the H21. You do not need to connect to your home network for MRV to work (this is the mode supported by D*). Others here have connected it to their networks (not supported by D*) to allow MRV to work. If...

    Cheapest way to get MRV?

Almost the same boat as BigStein and wildbill except I paid an extra $99 to upgrade from a SDDVR to the HDDVR. So far the wife and I are very pleased with the MRV features.

    Early cancelation fee

Sorry to hear that. It sounds like your best hope is that D* decides to reduce or eliminate the ETF. Good luck.

    Early cancelation fee

I thought I remembered some discussion a while back about D* (and maybe E* too) having a solution for situations like this where a single dish was installed and shared by multiple apartments. If this is true, could you talk to the owner about a compromise solution where one dish is installed...

Moved to Directv from Dish Network

I switched to D* back in 02 for one reason - YES Network! I want to watch the Yankees and still would not be able to if I sayed with E*.

    tailgating with Directv

The 60Hz and 120Hz refer to the refresh rate of the TV. It really is only important for HD. I'm not really sure if LCD or LED would be better for you. The overall brightness of the TV will most likely be important if it will be outside in daylight / sunlight. You may want to see how the picture...

    Tip or not.

Agreed. Tipping is for good service at the customer's discretion. Personally, I have tipped installers in the past, including the tech who was at my place this week to install MRV. Having been on the other end of the "tip" (waiting tables in a restaurant), I know how good it feels when a...

    MRV Installed today

The R15 is disconnected and deactivated. My wife wants to watch recorded shows that are still saved on the machine, so I plan on connecting it to a TV for her to be able to watch her shows (I hope!).

    MRV Installed today

My wife decided she needed to have MRV (saw the D* commercials!). I figured since the R15 was acting up, we would take the plunge on a new 2 yr contract and upgrade. Tech arrived at 3:55 for a 4 to 8 appointment. He installed a HR24 and swapped the H20 with a H23. We kept the H21 in the family...

    A Scammer at My Door

That was some quick thinking on your part (working for DTV). Hope the cops catch him.

    Auto bill pay?

I have been using auto pay for over 5 years. Never had a problem. I don't know if this option is still available, but I still get a paper "bill" every month (of course it shows paid in full).

    NFL Sunday Ticket Poll

I've had ST/SF for a few years now, but probably will cancel due to cost. If they could have the HD feeds without all the other "features" that I find useless at a reasonable price, then I might stay. I get all the team games that I care about (NY) on my locals, but I have found it nice to find...

    DirecTV Loyalty Progam

I just happened to log into my D* account last night and saw that they had given me free Showtime for 3 months. They also gave me a no charge service call in October (before my protection plan activated) for a wiring problem. From the looks of what others have posted, the level of loyalty...

    Tuner Failed - Signal Loss

Tech just left, outside cable connections corroded, one center wire pretty much gone. He replaced connectors and block. Everything seems to be working fine now. As a side benefit, the tech even found a remote code that works for the Trutech tv we have in this room.

    Tuner Failed - Signal Loss

I have a similar problem with a H21 and AT9 (sidecar) dish. Only a few channels received. When tuning to one local channel, system reports a multi switch failure. Swapping the BBC with my H20 does not resolve the problem. My R15 does not report any problems. D* has scheduled a service call for...

    OTA Antenna

Try this link TV Antenna Source Indoor/Outdoor TV Antennas - digital/HDTV Based on your location he can recommend an appropriate antenna. Your idea for OTA "backup" is good. I do the same for those time when the rain is heavy.
