I now get Cincinnati and Dayton OTA. When this goes through, NY and LA first then my three local preferences will be Louisville, Lexington and Columbus Ohio and are well within the spotbeams. Cincinnati stations news coverage of Kentucky is not good at all. They don't seem to report anything...

The rules that protected local stations are antiquated, anti competitive and have elements of censorship and should have been overturned long ago....(In My Own Opinion). Side note: I wonder how many members here in this specific forum already receive more than one TV market OTA or 'otherwise'...

One of the most interesting areas not that far from Cincinnati has three cities as significantly viewed. I would assume that this would apply to cable and not to satellite TV. And if they are significantly viewed as defined by the FCC, none of the stations would be subject to blackout syndex...

Also on a happier note, Direct Tv finally fixed the program guide and the program info on those Fox (related) channels.

I found this http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/significantviewedstations031011.pdf It breaks down the stations by county within the States. What is strange is that WRGT 45 a Fox station from Dayton OH shows up on the list for my county.

But why are only the (formerly disputed) Fox channels affected and not the other channels? I have two receivers, so I have to replace them both?...In order to get the proper guide and info just only on the Fox channels? The other channels (non Fox) display fine on the guide and in the...

Its the same on an analog TV as well...I don't have a HD box and don't subscribe to the HD service. Since Direct TV put up these announcements...the program guide on those channels just had the announcements...there is no way to find out what is playing at the moment or hours in advance...

Now if only Direct TV could fix the programming guide on those channels so I can see what programs are on those channels...then everything would be just fine....

The only complaint I have is that the channel guide and the program description is totally messed up on the channels that might be pulled.

Whatever the case, I am staying with Direct TV. No way in hell would we EVER go to Dish. Historically Direct has not dropped channels at a whim like Dish does. Cable is not an option as we would spend even more and get less channels than we do now. I am confident that everything will be worked...

When cable goes down, often it is for hours. Direct TV its only for a few minutes if that. Ask your neighbors about their Direct TV service. Direct TV has more channels, for less money than what my cable company can provide. The cable company doesn't even carry some of the channels I watch...

I have to assume the receiver (s) we bought in 2001 is actually owned by us, I'm thinking we paid like $99 or less for it for it and that included the dish. A year later we got another receiver and it came with another dish for about the same price. Pretty sure it was Best Buy.
