So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Directv still bundles HughesNet internet for rural customers.. they bundle Viasat too.

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Doesn’t DTV(ATT now) lease space from Dish on certain orbitals? Also, DTV partners with dish(Echostar) for HughesNet. Everybody is a customer of everybody...

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

That’s how you think it will happen. I am a big fan of supply and demand but a service like this only encourages the laws to be broken, and puts more people in a bad situation. Like all the people companies have to let go...

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Yes, your consumer action... that is not the same as these mergers being consumer friendly. Let’s say other providers get knocked out, and that leaves a smaller handful. They raise the prices on channel costs, on channels they own... there is no recourse for you to go to another provider. It’s...

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Correct... but that doesn’t support the pro consumer point, at all.

    48 hours to re-activate a Directv account

Contact a DIRT member, and see about an upgrade. Highest I have seen is a $150 upgrade fee, which ultimately isn’t bad when you see how much better it gets.

    48 hours to re-activate a Directv account

The H1 and the H3 are like comparing the HR34 and the HR54. I would be happier with an HR54 over an H1 as well.

    Chiller TV

I didn’t see anything on this, and since there was quite a few people who made the threat of leaving Dish for DTV for this channel, I thought would be prudent and informative. ChillerTV is shutting down on 1/1/18. Not sure the impact it will have on most, but I do know there were some pretty...

Ohio woman shocked by nearly $185,000 DirecTV bill

Pretty standard that you must stop autopay 3-7 days prior to not wanting money withdrawn. If your Due Date is tomorrow, with most companies, and you try and stop it and it goes through... well... I know Doesn’t she gives plenty of notice with eStatements.

Ohio woman shocked by nearly $185,000 DirecTV bill

Why is this in the Dish forum, and not the DTV forum?

End of Service, Account Credit Balance

The way I see it is most people pay their bill via card. ATt is paying their "bill"(refund) via card as well.

Vacation Suspension leaves DVRs in a mess!

Everyone here knows me as a Dish guy, and I agree that DTV didn't screw up. User error, plain and simple.

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

That couldn't have anything to do with Southwest signing a long term guaranteed fuel price contract..... You know what else limits customers options and causes inflated prices? When the competition can no longer be competitive and has to price themselves out of the market. Consolidation is...

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Having bad customer service would happen whether they owned them or not. Even an O&O station. Ultimately, there are still many alternatives. When it comes to those alternatives having to bid for the same thing, that is where the issue lies.

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Depends on the plans. The issue I have with ATT purchasing them is the same I would have with viacom, Disney, or any other large company that already has a stronghold on channels in the country. Dish has none, which would get them in the same battleground as their competition. If they had plans...

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Keep in mind, I am against the deal, but what negatives have come out of the Comcast/NBCU deal? Comcast is forced to play nicely as a condition of them making a lot more money.

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

The Comcast deal wasn't that bad, as we found out with the latest NBCU renewal. Forced arbitration. Worked out for all.

So what happens when the Deathstar takes over Time Warner?

Trump said if elected, he will do everything he can to squash it. I agree with Trump, but ultimately I'm not exactly sure how much control a pres would have. Hopefully we can replace Wheeler soon.
