Yea it's relaunching as "BET J" on March 1, which is when Directv is launching it. From what I read, it's going to focus more on the "lifestyle and culture" and adding more BET shows.

That or BET 2, which is what I have read it's going to become. It'd be a damn shame if they change the format of this channel just to get wider distribution.

You do know Rupert Murdoch, one of the most extreme right wing people involved in the media, is owner of Directv right? What do you expect? There are a lot of people I know that will not subscribe to Directv anymore SOLELY because he is the owner and they don't support his political views.

I've got both services on my 52" plasma, the E* channels have far less compression and artifacts than the same D* channels do. I am not sure what "clearer" means, but if it means D* has more compression, they most certainly do.

Dish has better picture quality across the board so if you were seeing poor PQ or an upgrade with Directv, you had something wrong with your setup when you had Dish.

In YOUR OPINION they are. I have been with both providers, and I HATE the Tivo units. The 721, even though it doesn't have name based recording yet, is superior, faster, and more user friendly than the DTivo. The PQ on Dish is also better. I am not willing to give up the better PQ, faster...
