First, you're saying that it has to be an in-house installer who does it, but Joe said in-house doesn't do it? How do I go about this? I assume now I'll have to re-order, after I do do I call directv themselves and tell them exactly what I need? What do I ask for? What would they use?

So the wife axed the whole deal today. The installer was willing to do the job, but I guess my wife didn't understand that when I said a pole mount installation, I meant it literally. She did not want a 6 foot pole in our front yard with a dish on top of it. Not sure where to go from here...

I ordered online Sunday night and got the Thursday time slot, so I will know for sure tomorrow! Figures it's going to rain tomorrow. Between rain, borderline line of sight, and most likely a pole mount, I'm going to have to do some big time schmoozing!

Quick update. After playing with the Dishpointer AR app a little I noticed that you really need to hold it steady in one spot for at least 15-30 seconds because it seems to recalibrate a touch. I was curious about that because there was a descrepency between the app and the google earth dish...

Oh, ok. No, The picture from under my roof would be the farthest left corner possible. So it would be a matter of being above the widest part of the tree which I can't tell unless I'm on the roof. So if you figure the roof has to be at least 20 feet above where I was taking the picture, then...

The picture I posted that is above the one I took from below my roof? No. That picture is me standing right by my sidewalk. Anymore to the left and I'm on the sidewalk. If I try to change the angle much more I get very close to my neighbors property line. If I wasn't so afraid of heights...

Actually, I'd be golden with Dish Network via Eastern Arc. If only Directv was also at 61.5, 72, and 77! As far as 103 goes, it looked clear to me there, but you would definitely know better. Still, I thought on a 99/101/103 dish that it points at 101?

Ordinarily I'd agree but in my case the window that is open is above mature trees, not in between where they would only have to grow horizontally. I don't think these trees are going to get taller quickly. But yeah, I think I'm going to have to plead with the installer to help me out!
