DIRECTV Applauds Enactment of Satellite TV Bill

Since TV is mostly going to the format which spends over half of the newscast telling you what they are going to tell you and saying sponsored by, the newspapers are still the source much of the details and additional stories. They seem to be selling at the vending boxes anyway.

DIRECTV Applauds Enactment of Satellite TV Bill

It was time to extend SHVERA. So that is what STELA does along with a making a path for DiSH to offer Significantly Viewed with some network fillins in markets that do not have all 4 networks and some other gimmiks. AAD can still do the distants thing if they don't feel the need to opt out.

DIRECTV Applauds Enactment of Satellite TV Bill

No. You cannot get distant hd nets if your local hd nets are available.

DIRECTV Applauds Enactment of Satellite TV Bill

Way back then, there was no limit on how many cities could be offered as distant networks. DIRECTV offered 2 and DiSH Network offered 13. I had them all for a while. One other person also had all 13 from DiSH Network at the same time. My comment is not about DIRECTV vs. DiSH, but about the law...

DIRECTV Applauds Enactment of Satellite TV Bill

Well, it ain't as much fun as having all 13 of the original Distant Network Cities at the same time, but it is okay. ;)

Attn DirecTV: Yankees Fans in Upstate NY can not see some games

I watch those games on DiSH Network Superstation WWOR. Also the Mets on Superstation WPIX. And then there is WGN America HD. The Sports Leader seems to have everything else.

Guide Update for VERY old receivers (10+ years)

Yeah, I'll buy anyway because my landlord is nice and don't want any leased receivers in the place. He pays the rental on the cable box. :)

Guide Update for VERY old receivers (10+ years)

What I am saying is, if you are single and die or become incapacitated who is responsible for getting the equipment back to DIRECTV? You are and are not capable of doing that. DIRECTV might be within their rights to place a service lien on the property to recover the receivers and any remaining...

Guide Update for VERY old receivers (10+ years)

Well, I guess you are not of an age or have health issues while renting your place of residence. I do not wish to have anything which someone else owns in my residence. That is not fair to my landlord. DIRECTV has gone from a "you have to buy it" to a "you can't buy it". Who made the change...

Guide Update for VERY old receivers (10+ years)

Too many lose ends in that. If my MPEG2 receivers won't get the MPEG2 SD programs I pay for and they do not offer Owned for Owned then I will cancel. I had to go through too much crap to be allowed to buy a MPEG4 HD receiver for $399 + shipping.

Guide Update for VERY old receivers (10+ years)

Will be interesting to see what happens. I guess they are not replacing with owned are they? My receivers are listed in my sig. I forgot to list the RCA. NFL Sunday Ticket and MLB Extra Innings.

Do any of you subscribe to the NFL Ticket?

At some point this "more money" begins to erode the exiting sources of money(Broadcasting and Ticket sales at the gate)
  14. J

Do any of you subscribe to the NFL Ticket?

The NFL does not want Sunday Ticket widespread. They make far more from Broadcast rights and Ticket sales. This could be the reason that DIRECTV has to pay such high rates to get the package(NFL has to be "dollared" into allowing the package to exist).

    DirecTV-2-PC Public Beta

Might look over at the Cyberlink site for a recent Release. HDTV Magazine just circulated one similar to this offering.

    DirecTV-2-PC Public Beta

It will be interesting to hear how well this works. I have not had good luck with Cyberlink codecs on my FTA stuff.

    NFL Sunday Ticket

I called and asked about my auto renewal and it was not listed. I had the 06/07 Combo pack so auto renewal should have been listed. The CSR fixed that. In late July they sent me an early bird offer which would include Superfan for free, so I asked about the Superfan for free and the CSR looked...

Did you see that EAS Test?

I can on;y imagine what a sports bar system would include. I have never seen one. I do have modulators, mixers and amplifiers. I have 30" dish for 101 and 30" dish for 119 with Sat C taped to the side of the 119 LNBF. I do have a central panel but after that it is a mess to say the least. Only...

Did you see that EAS Test?

Yes, I know how much my bill is. :) I have been working on this system for nine years. Any of the receivers can be seen on any of the TVs. They are all series D or E receivers. The EAS notification was from DIRECTV and was on "cable" channels. I did not take time to read it completely, but...

    No. Satellite dishes owner.

Did you see that EAS Test?

Well, on many days there are 15 Major League Baseball games. You might say that would be the correct number of receivers, but this season many of those games have 2 feeds available. So, I seem to be way short again. :D :D
