Way back then, there was no limit on how many cities could be offered as distant networks. DIRECTV offered 2 and DiSH Network offered 13. I had them all for a while. One other person also had all 13 from DiSH Network at the same time. My comment is not about DIRECTV vs. DiSH, but about the law...

I watch those games on DiSH Network Superstation WWOR. Also the Mets on Superstation WPIX. And then there is WGN America HD. The Sports Leader seems to have everything else.

Too many lose ends in that. If my MPEG2 receivers won't get the MPEG2 SD programs I pay for and they do not offer Owned for Owned then I will cancel. I had to go through too much crap to be allowed to buy a MPEG4 HD receiver for $399 + shipping.

The NFL does not want Sunday Ticket widespread. They make far more from Broadcast rights and Ticket sales. This could be the reason that DIRECTV has to pay such high rates to get the package(NFL has to be "dollared" into allowing the package to exist).

Might look over at the Cyberlink site for a recent Release. HDTV Magazine just circulated one similar to this offering.

It will be interesting to hear how well this works. I have not had good luck with Cyberlink codecs on my FTA stuff.
