After the new software was downloaded (120) did you do a re-boot after D* forced a reboot? I've found that when new software comes down if I do a second reboot, it usually minimizes the problems that I've seen.

I seriously doubt that they'll offer a free DVR. They have been offering free HD boxes with upgrades, which I tried to get upgraded to a DVR (as a 10+year customer of D*. Even Customer Retention wouldn't give me the DVR, but they did offer me free HBO for 6 months and free NFL Super Fan for one...
