Wow, a one post expert! As the Sony is out of production- what is the point?

If you have seen the LG and the Sony side by side as I have, you see that the end results are VERY different in the same way a SE cell's menus are different than a Moto's. The PQ looks better on the Sony as well, IMO.

The Sony firmware is not the same as LG's..much nicer GUI- if you can try them out side by side.

It's a hard box to find but I love my Sony SAT-HD300 great box- it's never locked and decodes basic cable. Funny we some to have this vote once a month...

I had just Voom but I could not resist the Sunday Ticket deal, so I also have DTV. I've been waiting for the Voom DVR but it most likely will never happen. As soon as the DTV DVR price drops a bit- i'll get one and dump Voom as I pretty much only watch HBOHD-W on Voom. Get DirecTV! Voom is...

While this is most likely true, Vurb what do you recommend we do? Get Dish? LMAO! Voom has zero Sunday ticket and as you know, far less to watch than DTV.

Okay my fellow OSX user, I will bow down before you when TNTHD hits the guide. One question, I heard from a source here in LA- that HBOHD-W is also going to be added. Can you confirm that?

Neut, I can see a DTV plan to ramp the HD and drop the DVR price and rule the HD world. Even ten new HD channels of non-network content would be huge.

We all have "OUR" list, yours or no else's is official, no matter how much insider info you have. This thread is every bit about a wish list of HD channels for DTV to add.

Add HBOHD-W and inHD 1 & 2, and you'd have a real strong lineup.

I think that makes perfect sense. Charlie being smaller than Rupert would be a natural player for Voom and DTV doesn't need Voom. Either way- Voom is a small fish waiting to be eaten.

Slacker, You know my take, the Sony SAT-HD300 is THE best HD box made. The firmware is different than the LG and the Hughes and in this world firmware means alot (just look at all the Voom Moto problems with crap firmware) I've had mine two months without a single lockup. I can chnage...

Don't get Voom, I have it and DTV and DTV is much better and things will be even on HD soon enough.

I have the Sony and do feel it's worth the extra dough.
