    AM21

I've worked with the AM21 for 6 years in the MSP area, and it doesn't seem to matter which way you run them. As long as you actually run the setup with any zip codes you need to attain the channels you want to attain. So just run your home zip as primary and any other zip as secondary. Then if...

    AM21

I'm in the MSP DMA and have worked with my HR24/AM21 for six years. Currently, I run 6-7 secondary zip codes to attain all the regular stations and the low power stations. Run Utica NY (13501) and Nashville TN (37201) as secondary zips first. Utica will give you 33.2 (Escape) and 33.3 (Laff)...

    New OTA adapter

I've done extensive work with my AM21's. One on an HR24 and one on an HR44. Since the channel update (additions to the D* OTA database in May-July) my AM21's on both DVR's have obtained the added channels. So it seems to me the AM21 will do everything the new LCC will do. I just hope they update...

    New OTA adapter

I think they did just fine by developing an OTA option this way. As far as being compatible with the HS17, (it can't be) because the HS17 was designed with NO OTA compatibility. So it would be difficult to make that so. As far as including an antenna goes, I'm sure they did that for someone who...

22 and subs OTA am21 in Raleigh

By running Seattle WA (98101) it will give you 22.2 and 22.3 KZJO from Seattle. With an ANTENNA TV guide on 22.3. Then run MPLS/STP (55401) to get 22.4 into you DVR. You have to run 2 secondary zips to get an Antenna TV guide on 22.3 and to get 22.4 to show up on your DVR/AM21. But this is the...

Quick question on running 2 T.V.'s

I've got an HR24 and an HR44 both in my living room. Both have an powered HDMI splitter hooked up to them and I use the component (blue, green, red cable) on each DVR. This means I have 6 TV hookups (3 from each DVR). The living room TV is hooked to both DVR's and I have 4 remote bedrooms hooked...

    OTA channels on AM21

Actually, one that "could" be added for the Detroit DMA is METV WDIV 4.3 RF45. The TMS-ID number on that channel is 40547 and is under the 65000 range limit on the database on the AM21. I don't know who you would contact to get it added to the database, maybe D* or probably better to contact the...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

Here is the best procedure you can try. Start by resetting the AM21 on the antenna setup on the DVR. Then do a double reboot by unplugging the DVR/AM21. A double reboot is attained by, unplugging the DVR and letting it reboot. And as soon as it's back from the first reboot unplug it and let it...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

You should receive all of the channels (that are in D* database for Casper) that your antenna receives, WITH the correct guide. If you are not, you must have bought a used AM21 and the former zips are causing you to get the wrong guides. It sounds like you have properly cleared the AM21, but the...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

I have my AM21 on an HR24 and every time the DVR reboots for that software update, the AM21 only retains the channels from the last 2 zip codes run (stored in the machine). That's why in the layout of zip codes in the previous post the last 2 zip codes run were the same as the first 2 run so...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

One thing to remember. When you have a software update or a power outage the AM21 will only re-initialize the 2 zip codes stored in the DVR/AM21. Basically the last 2 zip codes run in the last setup run. So remember the process and you will have to rerun these zip codes after a reboot, because...

How many extra channels did you add to your AM21 in the Twin Cities, by running secondary zips?

    AM21 question (coconut?)

I would check back every so often on Rabbitears.info. Because, there is quite a bit of movement of some of the diginets and sometimes one will fall inline and match for you. I don't think there is as much movement as previously, but it still doesn't hurt to check every so often.

    AM21 question (coconut?)

I can't find a match for a .3 RF13 match to get GRIT on 22.3 RF13 for you. There are about 3-4 channels that carry GRIT on .3 RF13, but none of them are in the database.

    AM21 question (coconut?)

If you run Roanoke VA (24011) it will give you the BOUNCE guide on 27.2. Then run Columbia SC (29201) to get the correct GRIT guide on 10.3 and 27.3. Then here's a bonus for Springfield. If you run Miami FL (33122) it should give you ANTENNA TV on 33.3 in Springfield, with the correct ANTENNA TV...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

By running all those zips, I get 5.3 with the correct METV guide (Weslaco). 11.3 with the correct Justice Net guide (Atlanta) and 23.3 with the correct GRIT guide (Little Rock). I get both 9.4 KMSP (BUZZR) and 9.4 KAWE (PBS) in my DVR by running all those zip codes and just keep the BUZZR guide...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

I have found by having a lot of history working with an AM21. Is, that 10 different zip codes is the limit. If you run an 11th different zip code it wipes out the very first one you run. With the expansion of subchannels all over. It takes more and more zips to get all the desirable channels in...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

This will sound like I'm from another planet, but it works. It will take about 45 minutes to an hour of time to accomplish. First, you do a double reboot of your DVR to clear the AM21. Then you have to run the initial setup on the AM21, 6 different TIMES. Each time takes 5-7 minutes to run...

    DirecTV Off-Air Support

I'm in the Twin Cities market, and by running a bunch of secondary zip codes on the AM21 you can receive almost all of the subchannels in MPLS/STP. I get 2.4, 4.2,5.2,5.3,5.4,5.7,9.2,9.3,9.4,11.2,11.3,23.2,23.3,23.4,41.2,41.3,41.4,43.1,43.2,43.3,43.4. There are some more, I'd have to check. Now...

    AM21 question (coconut?)

What I would do is run Weslaco as a secondary zip before Houston and see what you have. If you don't have LAFF on 22.3 RF13 after this I would try Mobile AL and then Houston. With Mobiles 5.3 having a different RF channel it might give you 22.3 RF13 LAFF. It's your choice as to how you want to...

    AM21 question (coconut?)

This is an area where most people misunderstand (or blame) the AM21. By matching the .2 RF31 to Memphis, it gives you the channel 38.2 RF31 WSWB in Wilkes Barre, with the METV guide from Memphis's channel. So it is a guide match. Now if your antenna receives the channel, you will get the...

    AM21 question (coconut?)

I just looked at something that might conflict for you. I remember in the past that you have stated that you use Weslaco TX to match 5.3 to METV in Burlington. I noticed that Weslaco' 5.3 is on RF13. Therefore you might not get 22.3 RF13 by using Houston. You can use Mobile AL to match 5.3 to...

    AM21 question (coconut?)

You will have to run 2 zips, but if you run Houston TX (77002) the .3 RF13 will match Houston's 13.3 RF13 KTRK (LAFF) and give you the LAFF guide on 22.3 RF13 in Burlington. This is contingent upon no other zip with a 22.3 be run. As the channel match has precedence over a RF channel match. Then...

    AM21 support has ended.

One thing I didn't mention in my post about Dayton, that may confuse you, is this. If you have already run Detroit as a secondary zip to get 7.3 LAFF, it is proof that secondary zips work. Detroit carries Laff on 7.3 and the guide would match Dayton for you. Now by running the additional...
