Happens to me too with my H24-500. Was never when trying to access recordings on my HR24-500 though. Always clears itself up so has not been a problem for me. Just a curiosity.

Personally for myself - I would like to see SD stay around for the never ending problem of rain fade. For the locals I can always switch to my OTA antenna, but if I'm watching a cable channel, tough luck!! This fact doesn't seem to matter to any others except for one other guy on this forum.

Getting back to the subject matter of this thread---I hope that the rumor of D dropping the SD channels is not true. If it is, there goes my solution to continue viewing when rain fade kicks in. NOT GOOD!!

As I have mentioned to others in the past, look into the "My Wireless TV" system. No wires. Easy hook-up. Just the initial purchase price.

You can expect a price increase every year, signal outage in heavy rain or snow, and a hassle from them if service is ever required. Other than that, everything is wonderful.:rolleyes:

As others have said, to be safe, I would cancel the present setting at the appropriate time and then reset to the new channel. You just can't predict what will happen if you leave as is.

I've seen that from time to time also with the premium movie channels. Normally they are grayed out instead of the bright white. Have thought that maybe someone had made a mistake and that the channel was live. But not the case. Guess it's just a bug in the system.

Thanks inbchris. Going for new batteries now as I have had some issues with slow or no response, but keep forgetting to make the change.

Check out the "My Wireless TV". Works great with DTV for me. Gives full fuction of DTV box to a remote tv. Got mine at Best Buy. Also can find on Ebay and Amazon. One time purchase and no monthly fees.

Seems like at my age that I do a lot of "dithering", but don't get much done.:)

Thanks Jimbo. Worth a try. Of course, I don't know what the dithering bolts are. Assume perhaps the 2 adjusting bolts on the right and left sides.

Am definitely talking HD only. Only use the non HD version when I have to switch over due to the rain fade. Will check the signal strength when the weather turns bad. Am thinking about trying to repeak the dish myself, but am afraid of screwing it up big time.

Don't look that great. Getting 83, 95 & 87 respectively. And the weather is sunny and clear. ?????

Does anyone know which satellite and transponder(s) the Cleveland local stations are on? I keep losing them due to "rain fade" and would like to check their signal strength. Even though I am paying the monthly fee for the service contract, DTV will not send a tech out to repeak the dish...
