New subscribers will get the HD channels by getting an HD bundled package or getting the "HD Access" for $10.99. Notice the word "current" in that statement. It sounds like those of us who are allowed to keep the HD pkg will not get any new HD channels without upgrading.

Yes, for one receiver/DVR. Add $4.99/mo for each additional receiver/DVR. Here in Calif there are no taxes on DirecTV but lots on cable, YMMV.

There is not a D* DVR that has a port for channel changing from a S2 TiVo. If D* can't provide a replacement for the DRD435 look on eBay for another RCA. Another option would be to sell the S2 TiVo and get a D* DVR. The HR10-250 TiVo is still available.

Now you don't think they would force you to replace an "owned" receiver for a "leased" one , would you? That would be what lawyers call conversion.

According to the memo in the OP, the replacement receiver will be activated as "owned". I guess they mean if the replaced receiver is "owned" since it would make no sense to replace a "leased" with a "owned".

It's not a clock problem in most cases. This is related to the HR10 not being able to start the recording on time due to a failing hard drive, database needing reorganization, etc. There are several threads over at the tivocommunity forum discussing this.

Try the Clear and Delete Everything. This might speed things up so there is no delay. Write down all your season passes so you can re-enter them after.

Try setting Start Recording option 1 or 2 minutes early.

Most every HD game is regional or HDnet. Some Sharks games are on FSN-HD-BA here on Comcast. OLN games are carried on InHD, cable only. Nothing on ESPNHD. And it looks like some playoff games will be HD on NBC. See schedule here .

There should be no problem. Others have reported doing it with no problem. I read on another board where someone tried to activate a used HR10 as leased and D* refused and made it owned.

You can buy to own at BB online only if you are an existing D* subscriber. New D* subscribers have to lease at BB. Try it if you don't believe. Crutchfield and Weaknees have the buy to own for everyone. Also newegg SELLS the HR10-250 for $409.
