You may choose Directv but ATT may not choose you for much longer. They are doing their best to push people off form satellite to streaming. They consider satellite a legacy service whose days are numberfed.

Yup, I have the fastest speed available in my rural area, 3 Mbps. Barely good enough for streaming Netflix in SD. I might be able to get a satellite Internet connect but with it's high latency and very stingy bandwidth cap it would not suit my needs either. Satellite TV is my lifeline.

On Directv's TV ads they advertise a teaser rate in big letters on the screen then they flash a disclaimer on the screen in small unreadable letters and it's only on the screen for a second or two. Well it's day two without the Weather Channel and so far my quality of life has held up just fine. And my hands aren't shaking and I show no withdrawal symptoms. So far so good. LOL.

I think it's hilarious that with this shutdown on Directv looming the Weather Channel started preempting some of their realty shows in favor of real weather. Do they think we are stupid enough to fall for that? If they get back on Directv those reality shows will be back in a heartbeat.
