Awesome billing error in my favor, and now I'm moving

I don't want to drag this out too much, but she was just asking for help to move her service, why she was so open about this is beyond me. Maybe she was just trying to stir the pot. I am surprised, though, how well she has succeeded in doing that.

    DIRECTV Continues 3D Leadership

I own a 3D TV, but have my LOS to the directv satellite carrying 3D is obstructed. I hate trees.

3net To Launch on DIRECTV this Sunday!

This is great news. I've been with dish for years and am adding directv only because of their 3D content. I hear penthouse is coming out with a 3D channel this year, would be nice to see it on directv.

    Paying for DNS channels 390-399??

I'd imagine if and when they actually get an official green light from the gov't, they'll have to follow whatever blackout restrictions the leagues impose. I'm surprised they don't already do this, it sure would help them credibility-wise in the courtroom.

Thanks Joe, that puts my mind at ease, wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I'm going to go signup right now.

question about paying past due bill

Well, to be fair, I threw in a couple anticipated overdraft fees into that figure.

question about paying past due bill

Yeah, if you do end up going with dish you'll quickly notice their site is pretty bad when it comes to precise and up-to-date info. Here's a site I found when I googled it, it sums up flex tv pretty well: http://www.dishmyhome.com/flextv.html

question about paying past due bill

You'd either have to install it yourself or probably pay $99. You wouldn't be able to use your directv dish as it is to receive dish network signals. They're pretty cheap on craigslist, usually $25-30 for a dish 500 and $60-100 for a dish 1000 (which will let you receive all the hd channels)...

question about paying past due bill

That's no longer the case, flex tv (prepaid) subscribers have the same choices as regular postpaid customers. You could even do PPV. There are no restrictions as to what channels you could sign up for. You just have to bay your bill each month in advance.

question about paying past due bill

By my calculations, it'll cost about $900-950 total for you to get dish up and running, which is still less than what you owe alone to directv.

    Paying for DNS channels 390-399??

They're paying the channel's carriage fees through some FCC program. They're in a legal battle with some of the networks over this, if you have time google it and check it out, it's pretty interesting. They have a very unique strategy to try to legally force these networks to play along. IMO...

question about paying past due bill

Dish charges a $20-25 reconnect fee. You would definitely not be able to lease any equipment from them. Their receivers are more expensive to buy than directv's as well, either used or new. You might be able to get HD free for life with a 2 year commitment, though. Expect to pay about $200 for a...

    thinking of switching q's ?

I'm about to sign up for directv and I've gone through the Costco signup page to explore pricing. Never prompted for card number. All it does is redirect to directv's site for final selection and checkout. However, when I make my selection, all my discounts are shown *except* for the Costco gift...
