What will happen to Directv going forward

Too bad. It was an okay 23-year marriage. Then she started fooling around and I left. Still miss her, but YTTV is okay, much cheaper, and stays up with me through hurricanes.

    Dolby Vison and Atmos Supported?

Went to YouTube TV. Was hoping DirecTV would launch an Android TV box that would also allow apps. I want a one box solution. Thought my DirecTV ready LG OLED WebOS would be the ticket but i was met with deaf ears when I called to see about turning it on. YTTV does locals, FireTV, Netflix, Hulu...

    Dolby Vison and Atmos Supported?

Finally fully canceled my 22-year DirecTV subscription today due to antiquated equipment (had the free upgrade plan but did not want to sign for two more years) and their failure to keep up with technology (slow move to streaming box and no LLC to replace my bulky AM-21). In a gallant last...

price hike and no relief for a customer fo almost 10 years

Correct. I loved DirecTV and was an enthusiast for their latest and greatest. Then they stopped innovating letting the competition get way out in front. I'm a loyal guy, only owned two trucks in the last 41 years. But, loyalty only goes so far.

price hike and no relief for a customer fo almost 10 years

Solution. Leave. After 22 years and playing with the alternatives for two years, I am out the door. Tried YouTube TV free for three weeks and stopped watching DirecTV after week one. To be fair, at Jimbo's suggestion, I took a six-month trial separation. But since i lost all my...

    Finally ordered 4K thru Directv

Interesting Jimbo. You've been here a long time so I listen. I've thought about trying 4K, but although the upgrade would be free, I don't want to sign up for another two years. I'm probably going to bail this week after 22 years at the end of my three-week trial with YouTube TV. I need no boxes...

    HDMI question

If they work you're fine. If no picture, you'll need new cables. Don't get suckered a pay a bundle for them or pay much attention to "certified" labeling. Any Chinese company can print that on their product. They cheat you know? $10 - $15 at Amazon will to do it.

    Cable

And if MaBell's spawn doesn't muck it up, you will be able get our DirecTV over the fiber later this year. Plus fiber will open you up to the wonderful, confusing, deceptive, and frustrating world of streaming. I love Amazon, Netflix, and their stock.

    Dircerttv 4K. Worth it?

FREE?????????????? Wouldn't it require a new 2-year contract?

    Streaming 4k Vs. DirecTV 4k

Been with my LG OLED 65 C7 for a year and D Vision does blow me away. Have an Onkyo 5.2.2 true Atmos setup and it is pretty sweet too. DirecTV does neither but I am still sticking with it. Sent from my XT1575 using the SatelliteGuys app!

Because I have Directv AT&T gave me unlimited data

If you are a veteran, they have even more goodies. In fact so many, I haven't figured them all out yet.

    The End of DIRECTV?

Another reason I left the provider. Only way to prove he was BS'ing me was to leave.

    The End of DIRECTV?

Well, I haven't seen a bill yet which may be full of gotchas. The Internet is priced at $90 discounted to $80 if bundled with cell and TV (Uverse, Now, or Sat) plus $15/mo off my cell bill as a veteran. So effectively it's $65/mo.

    The End of DIRECTV?

The Ethernet cable makes a difference in my opinion. For awhile I had 1gb fiber with a coop called ATMC but downgraded to 400 as I only got a little above that on the 1gb tier. Tech said a Win 10 machine could not do 1gb. Anyway, on their 400 tier I only saw about 350 down. Swapped in Cat7 cable...

    The End of DIRECTV?

I used to live in Carson City NV. Had a blistering fast 3mbs DSLconnection. After they installed a big white box, I stopped and talked to the tech punching wires on it. He clipped on to my pair at could get 9mbs. He stopped by the house later and was still getting 9mbs over copper. He said he'd...

    New OTA adapter

I thought the TPN maps covered Local channel rebroadcasts from the sats. The OTA database is used by the AM21's and new LCC to feed the Guide and allow DVR scheduling of the OTA's. Locals come from the birds and OTA's come from your personal antenna whether a coat hanger or a giant rooftop array...

    New OTA adapter

Leaving my 3mbs down DSL connection in Nevada five years ago I was an AT&T hater but hung as a loyal 21 yr DirecTV subscriber. For the past two years I've fooled around with "cord-cutting", a misnomer, but despite having OTA attic antennas and GB fiber, DirecTV, to me, just does it all better...

    Could My Dish be Bent?

Sorry about my choice of words. In my OP I stated the 103 relative signal was below 90 and I was getting some "drop-outs similar to rain fade but not as severe". So, maybe "down" was the wrong word for one. in my aviator days, I "downed" aircraft often. That certainly didn't mean they were not...

    Could My Dish be Bent?

Not bent. The Cableless "DirecTV" Guy showed up on the dot. Loosened all the bolts and re-tightened them. Realigned the dish. All better now. Loved the tech he came with. Had a tablet that remotely accessed the DVR and ran tests from their server. Confirmed that I was right. The 103 was X'ed...
