    Why subscribe to Game Plan???

It has to do with who has the television rights. The B10 only has rights to the games played at their venues. In other words, television rights reside with the home team. B10 home games will be on ABC (with ESPN/2 coverage for regional games), ESPN, ESPN2, and BTN. B10 games may appear on...

    Why subscribe to Game Plan???

Hold on now, some of the B10 games may be on GamePlan. The B10 television agreement only covers games played at a B10 venue (or where the B10 team is home). Looking at the schedule, most of the games I expected to be on GamePlan have been picked up by ESPN360 or ESPNU. The only game that I...

Which Dish will a new customer get?

And if you don't order an HD receiver you get a single LNB dish like my neighbors. Keep in mind a HD receiver locks you in for 24 months.

    Direct TV sports pack

The B10N won't specifically be a part of the Sports Pack since it will be available on what was called Total Choice. I assume this will be a basic channel package (not necessarily a part of the family package).

    Sports Pack...Worth it or not

If I understand the sports pack correctly, it is good for shows on the channels they provide in the package for programming not available through a PPV package (MLB:EI, NHL:CI, ESPN:CC, ESPN:GP). So, If you're looking for college programming (not basketball or football games) like coaches...

Direct HD Receiver and Real Tivo?

TiVos come with a s-video and composite video input for external box control. Use the s-video input. You will also need to find your IR blasters if you don't already know where they are.

Direct HD Receiver and Real Tivo?

Sure, you should be able to control a H20 with a TiVo. You won't be making HD recordings, but it is usable to record HD channels "downconverted" to 480i.

Can existing national birds handle a MPEG4 stream?

Yes D* could do a hard switch to MPEG4 now, but a slower incentive based switch would be a better approach. So if they add new MPEG4 channels with high demand content, then you can expect people to request MPEG4 equipment to replace their MPEG2 equipment. This way people aren't "losing"...

    Hd Add-On Antena Question

Generally if you can get HD over the satellite it will be your local feed (unless you can get waivers to get a NY/LA feed). Using an antenna will give you any local digital broadcasts that you can receive with an antenna.

is it possible to install dish inside?

Yes it is possible assuming you have a clear view in the right direction(s). I think you're on your own for installation though. I would have a hard time believing you could get a new 5LNB dish to work inside, but a standard dish should work. A buddy of mine had satellite service in his dorm...

    Considering a Change

I'm glad I made the switch from TWC-Cinci last week. I strongly suggest you layout the channels you need/want and figure out which one can best meet your needs for the price you're willing to pay. At this time only D* offers HD locals for the Cinci market. E* has a wider HD selection, with...
