    Netflix drops HDDVD

I think most of the shrink wrapped ones are unsold stock from stores and warehouses. When Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. phased out HD DVD, the unsold discs had to go somewhere. You can buy them in lots of 300 on eBay!

    Netflix drops HDDVD

Ironic, I first joined Netflix because they gave a free trial away with HD DVD players. It's not that big a deal now, anyway. If I really want a movie on HD DVD, I can pick it up for a few bucks on eBay. I've bought a couple cheap ones, and some of them are still shrink wrapped!

'Dark Knight' To Bring IMAX Home

I saw the same thing with Episode III in 2005. I think this is going to be bigger. All the IMAX showings are sold out here all weekend, except for a couple overnight. I had no idea part of this was shot in full IMAX until I read this thread. I was about to go see it only on DLP. I did get my...

    Wal-Mart commercial: "Toshiba HD DVD"

I think they're doing that on all their ads now. I've seen it on the ads for on Meet The Robinsons, Cars, Ratatouille, etc. I guess people don't think HD when they hear Blu-ray, unlike they do with HD DVD! :D

    Used HD-DVD $12.99 @ GameStop

I might buy them used, if they're not too scratched. A lot of them might just be returns from people who thought they were standard DVDs.

Mosquito Noise and other compression artifacts on Blu-ray

Stores here are still getting regular shipments of HD DVD players. I just found one at a local Sears. I've heard production is ramping up, and there will be a huge shipment later this month.

Mosquito Noise and other compression artifacts on Blu-ray

One local BB has both right next to each other, and I even saw the Sahara trailer on both. HUGE difference! They had several Blu-ray players still in stock, but no HD DVD players left. I wonder why. :)

    CompUSA pushing BR

CompUSA has a close connection with Sony; that's why theyre pushing BD. Most stores have a Sony Style section with a Sony rep. They also have a huge PS2/PSP section, but barely anything on the XBox or Nintendo side. The local store here doesn't even have a BD player, and is running a BD...

Wal Mart to Carry HD DVD Players and Movies

This is a good sign. I'll never forget when I first saw DVDs in Wal-Mart. They had a whole 20 titles! I knew then that the format was going to catch on. Their rental store at the front started carrying them soon after. First it was a shelf, then another, and so on until almost the whole store...

The First Adult HD-DVD coming soon

Sony probably wouldn't let them use Blu-ray. They didn't with Beta or UMD, and look where those are.
