I hope I'm not repeating someones post! I just received the invitation to purchase the new Oppo blu ray player. Should I pull the trigger on the new player or should I wait to hear if there are more problems with the player before buying it? Does anyone on here own one?

How long does that usually take for a product like this?

Even though I have just recently bought a blu ray player, I'm very excited for this player to come out. I have always been a fan of Oppo. I'll even buy one if I can get my hands on one. :)

So far the player has been amazing! I should be receiving some blu ray movies in the mail this week so I can finally see the blu difference. :) It plays my dvd's just great! I've been getting a lot of crap that I didn't buy a PS3 instead. I'm not going to be doing any gaming so I thought...

I just ordered the Panasonic BD-55k off of amazon! As soon as it's hooked up and running, I'll let you know what I think of it. :)

I greatly appreciate it teachsac. I will definitely check that out. I'm already thinking about the Oppo Blu Ray player for the future too. I really enjoy their DVD player's and I would assume their blu ray player would be as good.

You guys sure have helped me on a short notice! So is there any other cables I need? I saw on my Oppo dvd player I have a Fiber Optical cable hooked up to the unit to my tv. Do I need to keep that cable for the blu ray player?

Sounds great! I used to work at Best Buy and the price an employee can get cables are so ridiculous!

I've been checking out HDMI cables at Best Buy online and they are expensive! I'm definitely going to have to check out that site.

I do appreciate the information. A friend of mine even told me the BD55 profile is 2.0 and I won't be disappointed. One of the reasons I ask many people is because I like to buy something and keep it for awhile. I wish electronics weren't so expensive. :(

Should I consider a different receiver as well? I haven't upgraded it because I haven't had one single problem with it and it sounds great with my speakers. Sorry for all the questions! I'm not too smart when it comes to electronics that is why I like to ask the pro's. :)
