High Def Disc unit sales - The Digital Bits

Well if they sold HD DVDs for $10.49-$17.00 like they are now on BB's website and sales of software really had anything to do with how the format war came out, then, yes.

High Def Disc unit sales - The Digital Bits

Why is it amazing? I think it proves what I have thought for a long time, it's about the cost. HD DVD titles are selling because even Best Buy has them for 30% off, bringing them down to the price of a DVD. People want HD, just not for 50% more than regular DVD.

Since we always get how bad the PS3 is doing...

Wisconsin is one of the states with an anti-dumping law. Friday and Saturday the players were $185. The guy at W-M said it was because of the law. On Sunday they were $98. I don't know what changed to allow then to sell at that price. I was just happy to get one for that. Edit: I was at...

Blu-ray Wallops HD DVD In Disc Sales

What you're saying is that someone may know the true number of each disc out there but they're not telling.:) There's so much spin and bluster coming from each side it's hard to tell what's really happening. It is entertaining because there's so much passion over a disc format. What else...

Blu-ray Wallops HD DVD In Disc Sales

So, if somebody bought a PS3 with ten free discs, they count that as ten Blu-ray sales? The five free HD DVDs I'll get sometime in March count as sales? If that's true, how can Blu-ray lose when they give away so many discs?
