No these TP's that the FCC is talking about are NOT currently used. They were not biddable yet. So how does this affect VOOM directly? Not at all unless they were looking to bid on these in the near future. Which from what I gather they where not going to. How does this affect other DBS...

The way I read it, D* and E*, for that matter any sat company don't have to do squat for HD. The FCC ruling only specifies local broadcasters and cable companies and NOT Sat providers.

Basically DirectTV is just allowing you to watch Local's in HD....hmmm only people that might help are those to far away and not willing to put up a big enough antenna to capture it over the air. I don't see that as that big of a deal though I'm sure others probably do.

I have 19 channels and don't have this issue. Good Luck figuring it out.

Interesting numbers here. Of those currently polled 18.5% of the people or 5.4:1 ratio(roughly) are anywhere from slightly to totatly dissatisfied with Voom.

I haven't had much of what I would call a problem with Voom other than installation and thats not there fault. I wouldn't wait if you want HD. If HD isn't all that for you then I would wait. As someone said above, its free if you want to cancel at a later date! :D

Never needed to reboot my STB. I also don't see some of the issues that people complain about on there STB's either. One thing I do, do, is turn off my STB at night or whenever I am not watching it. Maybe thats the ticket? :shrug:
