    Voom should enable OTA permanently!

the thing is we DON'T know for sure. I keep hearing conflicting report. would be nice to get definite confirmation from an engineer.

    Voom should enable OTA permanently!

if voom is not going to collect the receivers they they should enable OTA permanently, i.e., no satellite or authorization needed for OTA reception. it's the least they could do for their customers. Sean pls pass this to TPTB

New Channels Added: - Discoveries & Fox Movie

I don't care about these channels. Fox movies? Yeah that's what I want, more second rate fare in SD. NOT

    Dolan's D-Day?

if voom is going to die let it die quickly so I can go find something else. otherwise bring on the dvr and the new channels. I hate this limbo.

Thank You letters to VOOM and Charles Dolan

Dear Mr Dolan, Thank you for forging ahead while others wait and see. I appreciate all the hard work you and the people at Voom have put in the past 2 years. May your vision still yet be vindicated. A Voom customer in South Bay, CA

    PQ: is it my imagination

or does DiscoveryHD looks REALLY good on Voom today? I mean this is the best I've seen it looks. or maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic now that the end is near.

Any Info on What New Channels are Coming in March?

I'm hoping against hope but if they still haven't decided how to wire the boxes together (coax, ethernet) how are they going to train installers and deploy systems by March? I think the most we can hope for is limited rollout for select customers. Now who would THOSE be? :)

Rebranding of HD Cinema Channels have been done!

I'm disappointed guytv isn't babestv. Between gunslinger, vice, and haha, I think we have the guys covered, EXCEPT FOR THE BABE FACTOR!!

    Any INHD update?

I don't think it's b/w with voom. if a deal could be made they would make the space, b/c not having either hdnet or inhd is kinda a black eye for voom, even if only as a perception thing. it's like a restaurant. they may say they're booked solid, but if freaking Clinton showed up, a space...

    Spinoff won't occur in 2004

What? Cablevision failing to follow through on something as scheduled? Why, that never happens! ;)

***** Big Big Changes for HD Cinema*****ALL MOVIES in OAR all the time

What I'm unhappy about is Voom teased us with an impressive bunch of kung fu selection *in the PG* way back in Sept. Since then, they've shown like 5, and 2-3 of them not terribly compelling docs on Bruce Lee. Oh I'm still waiting for Kurosawa's Ran.

Food Network now on channel 616 and Channel 700

Unfortunately, most studios are too anal to release their movies to ppv hd. Supposedly they're afraid of taping or piracy. Huh? Like people with taping equipment can't tape it once it goes to HBO or Starz? Right now, only 2 major studios release their movied to ppv hd: New Line and...

    Positive Voom review on Slate.com

http://slate.msn.com/id/2110065/fr/rss/ He got one detail wrong: the current deal doesn't require a $200 up front fee. I'd leave a feedback but I don't want to deal with the MS passport grabage.

VOOM Satellite Service to Dramatically Increase to Over 70 HD channels by March 2005

As Mr Wolf says, let's not start sucking each other's **** yet! If Voom had followed through on their plans/promises, right now, we'd be vooming with Inhd1/2, DVR, big dish, mpeg4/wm9, NFLHD... MAYBE in Mar05 they'll have the capacity, but whether they can actually fill it with something...

    HD Channels NOT on VOOM

Problem is most of those are either politically tricky or expensive to get. Cuban wants nothing to do with Voom. Cable want to keep inhd to themselves. Look how long it took for D* to sign the distant networks deals, and they have tons of subs. I don't know what V* will fill 30 more channels...

VOOM Satellite Service to Dramatically Increase to Over 70 HD channels by March 2005

How about just 50 HD channels but GIVE EVERY CHANNEL 20 MBPS? How about coughing up the dough to get hdnet and inhd? Mr Dolan, for 1yr+ you've been bragging about 39HD channels and yet people haven't exactly been beating down your door. So 30 more channels of the same won't do it.

    Rumor: HGTV Channel 615

I liked TechTV. Most of the info is stuff I already know, but I like the relaxed, geeky, sort of public-access TV feel to their shows.
