Perhaps you had your STB set to native resolution?? I know that is the only way I can see gray bars on my RPTV. The only modes that pass them for OTA are 480 i/p I believe. I know for a fact I have never seen gray bars on OTA channels before.

this is probably why Voom is adding 2 additional satellites. I'm sure it's mostly for west coast coverage but the one in the middle would be extra bandwidth just waiting to be used.. At least that is my opinion and observations. Also the development of better compression scheems would help this.

I think what dailo is looking for is a splitter on the off air antenna. If he hooks the RF output to the cable in his house then ALL of the TV's will be stuck watching the same channel. What you need to do is get a satelliet grade spliter and split the coax before it reaches the voom box...

they will probably not tell you how to get into the service menu but it's worth a try. I would still suggest connecting the off air antenna to the ANT C jack just to see if any HD works with the tv.
