    USA - Ch. 522

Sorry, I had heard we were supposed to get it but didn't notice it. I thought one of the many who were anxiously awaiting it here would have posted more about it. I guess only new HD channels warrant their own threads. I know I won't be watching much USA SD. Please delete this thread.

Transparent Menu – How it’s working for me

When I wasn't able to get the transparent menu to appear earlier it was on an SD station with STB set to native mode. It does work, however, when on any 1080i channel. It does not work on ABC (720p), but it does work on ESPN. I guess this means that ESPN is still being sent at 1080i.

Transparent Menu – How it’s working for me

I've tried all the tricks but no transparent surf bar here. I guess I'll have to wait for the next update to see it.

Turn Off STB to Recieve New Software?

I remember one member reporting that his STB had not yet downloaded the new software (5.68) 4 days after being installed. He mentioned that he hadn't been powering down his box at night. This would seem to indicate that it's true.

Voom's PG is gone - Don't reboot if you don't have to.

My STB locks up often and sometimes requires more than one reboot to receive program guide info. Try rebooting again. I'm one of the lucky ones who isn't having OTA mapping problems but hopefully the new software will correct this lockup problem.

    Stuck STB

Consider yourself lucky. It's happened to me 3 or 4 times in the last few days. What sucks is that it sometimes takes the guide almost an hour to download after rebooting.

Voom and original aspect ratio? (Please send your comment to VOOM)

Correct me if I'm wrong but if a movie was filmed in 1.85:1 and is shown in OAR, it does fill the entire screen. OK, I know that 16x9 is really 1.78:1 but this must be close enough to 1.85:1 where the black lines are basically nonexistent, because a 1.85:1 DVD (even if not anamorphic, after...
