Are You Vooming Again On Dish Yet?

I am VOOMing again and loving the experince with my new 942. It is one amazing picture on both SD and HD. It is significantly better pq than with VOOM. The DVR 942 really rocks for versatility and quality it delivers. I am told it has the latest video driver which enhances video. I am loving it...

    New Information on Rainbow-1

Check DarrllP's posts. he has a 9ft projection and has been one of the main advocates about PQ. To date, he says he likes what he sees of VOOM on DISH than on the original VOOM. DarrellP, If I am wrong or overstated your comments, please correct. :D

VOOMERS already switched to another Satellite service (not Cable), happy with HD?

I have to give DarrellP his credit. he does know the mechanics of PQ very well and has been one of the biggest critics of bad PQ when he sees it. In my book, if he says its better on DISH,I have to believe him. Won't know for myself until next week. I wonder how much a difference the receiver...

Voom sold customer list to E*??

Well if you look at another thead, E* bought a minority interest in VOOM so I am sure the customer list came with it.
  8. G

E* is now part-owner of Voom 21HD channels

Now that is news you didn't hear anywhere else. Wow! And all along they said that they didn't want to own VOOM or even carry any of the channels until they had MPEG4 in place. Can you believe anything or ever take Charlie at his word? In this case, I am glad to say...no.

DISH Network Website: VOOM COMES TO DISH NETWORK!

You got that dead on. I also wanted the 942 so I expected to pay the $250. still cheap as far as I am concerned for what you get. O remember paying 15 years ago $3500 for on JVC SVHS Recorder that could edit.

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

Thanks that is what I was trying to understand. My locals are on 119 so I would probably get the DISH 500 that looks at that and the other satellite.

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

Where did I hear that before? I don't blame you but locally their is not other option if I want any quantity of HD. Besides I also ordered the 942. to me it is worth the $250. I will put up my old Sammy sir 165 and my 4dtv up on EBAY and sell the suckers. Anybody want a free 10ft C/KU Band...

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

Thanks. I understand the difference in the two systems but what I don't understand is what determines if you need one looking at 2 satellites or 3? This is a separate issue from the 61.5 300 dish.
  13. G

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

What determines if they install a DISH 500 or Superdish? If I remember correctly, the CSR said superdish plus the extra for 61.5. But I saw in another thread that someone got 2 DISH 500's. I am confused. As you know..us former VOOM people aren't too bright. lol

Anyone know what the real Dish/Voom deal is?

Yes, they do charge it but then should show as a credit and be deducted so the effect of No charge is the same.

    Official Offer Letter from Dish

I think the title of this thread should be changed since this is not a real DISH letter but a con.
  16. G

    What about D*?

Well according to Sean in another thread and a few others, VOOM wasn't doing full HD either but between D* and full. I can't remember the numbers. Also I would jump a the chance of getting the Verizon TV but it is unlikely to happen in my area for maybe 10 years and we are a Verizon area...

Anyone know what the real Dish/Voom deal is?

Michael G. are you locals on 61.5? It could be the reason you got the second dish free. let me know. I tried and still was charged $100 for the second dish. But my programming costs was lower than what you quoted. $19.99 for 3 months for 180 and no charge for any HD until after 6 months. Lots...

Voom's free switchover offer to Dish far from free...

Hey...I called Dish and had no problem. I read them the news release for sunday. I am getting the 180 for 3 months for $19.99 and the HD pack for free for 6 months. That is better than AXE quoted in his original post. they will give you exactly what the release said. the only hook is the second...

Welll ; it is real. I just called and before she could read me her script I read her the key paragraph from the Friday News Release. She said that was correct. Of course I wanted a few changes. This is what I got. America's 180 for $19.99 for 3 months All HD programming including VOOM for...

Dish to announce special deal to get Voom customers

The news release stated that the HD would be free for the first 6 months. I would assume after that it would be the total of $15 for the HD pak+VOOM It is interesting that the name VOOM was kept by CVC. There was speculation that the name was doomed to be doomed.

    Whats the rush?

Again move to Erie, PA where Adelphia only gives you 3 HD channels and no OTA HD locals...because there aren't any. Those of you in cable areas that have that much of a choice. More power to you. I would have done the same, but DISH is my only option. D*...I will not give Rubert M. one penny...

It's Official - VOOM ON DISH NETWORK!

The release on Friday stated that the deal would include the HD pack free for 6 months. I have not heard anyone quoting a CSR saying that. After 6 months I would assume the HD pack+ VOOM would be $15?
