    I just called... and it's TRUE! Or at the very least, I have a positive credit on my account currently that equals what I paid for my boxes minus what I owed them for my last month. Hallelujah! If this holds and I get an actual check, then I am MORE than satisfied. -MP

    I think when HDCP was turned on, it affected all channels. They claimed they did not have a method of differentiating the output. And yes, it was very much turned on.

    THat was not the case previously. I had my box unplugged 45 days and it worked fine. So it would have had to be a change in the program.

    When I sold my 2 to a fellow Satguys member, I included a promise that OTA will function for 2 months. If it doesn't, I'll take them back. Beyond 2 months, I wash my hands of Voom and their boxes.

    As noted in another thread (and told to me today by the CSRs) we will receive a letter in the next three weeks outlining what Cablevision has decided to do for box owners. But the CSRs claim to have no idea what the letter will say. With any luck it's a coupon for a free PPV movie on Dish ;)...

    Rumors are that D* deal will be done. As for PQ, D* compresses their current HD to 1280x1024 which really frags some people off. I went with D* after Voom because I long for Sunday Ticket in HD ;)

    The other cool thing about the 6000 is that it is easily mod'ed by 169time for firewire extraction ;). Bad part is that with the OTA module, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

    As I have said... I left my receiver as OTA only for 45 days from November into December, and it was still ticking away fine. I think we're all safe as long as you didn't call Voom to deactivate.

    Voom LLC was established but the transfer of Voom itself was never made to it. Voom remained a Cablevision asset to the end.
