    What about D*?

Having switched to D* and after watching a couple of NBA playoff games on ESPNHD, it seems to me that possibly the picture isn't quite as sharp and or vibrant as Voom was. However, it does seem to pixellate a fair amount less than Voom did when there is a lot of fast movement on the screen. Is...

Dam my D* picture is horrid

It's really hard watching NBA playoffs on TNT SD. If they could get TNTHD, I'd be happy to wait awhile for them to aquire the Voom stuff. I've seen most of the Voom programming already (I'm not much of a World Sport fan) and with their repetition factor, I don't think I'd be missing much for...

Dam my D* picture is horrid

The SD channels are indeed putrid, but my HDs aren't all that bad-to me anyway.

    R.i.p Voom

Voom DBS is Dead. Long Live Voom Programming. I ran out of gas and went to bed before finishing my death watch. It'll be interesting to see what developes. I had such high hopes back in January. :no

Anyone else a little bit pi$$ed about the voom/dish thing?

Do you get your money back to some degree for the purchased equipment that you send back

DISH to carry all 21 in 2006

Me too. I feel your pain. However, D* has more satellites going up soon and I think this will motivate them to get their act together regarding HD. They may jump on Voom as well. We'll see if they just use all the extra bandwidth for HD locals. But that's not so bad either in some ways...

It's Official - VOOM ON DISH NETWORK!

Isn't anyone here the slightest bit miffed that this announcement wasn't made sooner?? Two weeks ago (or more) I get a letter from Voom telling me my service will be terminated April 30th, and that this letter is intended to give me time to make a seamless switch to another provider. I wait...

Directv $200 Rebate for Voom Customers

I downloaded the rebate.pdf document on the D* website. The first instruction is to fill out the above info-(note: only original forms will be accepted, not copies.) Does this mean that I have to get an "original" somehow from D* and can't just print this out as "original"? Please forgive me if...

    current dishnetwork and directv offers

Just hooked up with D*. Thanks Sean for the Value Electronics tip. Got the HDDVR and three other boxes (one HD) for around $1100. Man, I hope VOOM doesn't (but then again I do) resurrect itself soon or else I'll be kicking myself for this cash layout. But it will be handy to have HD Tivo...

You won't have to VaVa tonight for your kids to go GaGa tomorrow...

I don't see them yet here in L.A. Edit: Just rebooted and now I get them. :D

WHO will pull the coax on VOOM?

I've got three stbs and will probably disconnect two of them tonight, as we do most of our watching in one room. If that box is shut off, I'll still have two that might bring in OTA.

Thank You letters to VOOM and Charles Dolan

Mr. Dolan, Just wanted to drop a word of thanks to you for making VOOM available to us as an alternative to other providers. Your focus on HD content is valuable to all of us out here with HD displays. I've been an enthusiastic subscriber for eleven months now. Whatever happens, thanks again...

So what the hell is going on???? re olympic feed

Had a chance to watch and compare the HD feeds from 321 and my OTA NBC. The VOOM feed seemed a lot better, especially the sound. Much more spacious. My OTA signal strength was pretty strong too. Sorry to hear that some subs are being shut out. NBC could be doing a lot more to make their coverage...

    Sony Commercial

I sure hope they're showing it with the same frequency on the SD feeds (are they identical?) as well. Otherwise they're just preaching to the choir.

So what the hell is going on???? re olympic feed

Just watched the opening ceremonies in HD on 321 here in Los Angeles. Like golf, it seems they have a fairly limited number of HD cameras. But the shots that were HD looked good. Funny thing is that I can only get 594 and 321 on one of my three boxes. Fortunately it's the one connected to the HD...

how many Voom stb's in your home?

I have three. If you're having problems with some of your boxes, it could be a number of things I guess. I had a problem with one of mine and OTA. I switched locations with the one that was working, and it still didn't work. Had it replaced once by the installer who said he had a couple of boxes...

There must be some mistake. I just got my June bill and everything seems OK. I signed up in early March.

Good luck, Voomers! (If you don't reboot daily)

I have three boxes and haven't had to reboot very much (maybe twice) since the newest software came (a while ago.)
