The Dish on A la Carte and Capitalism

There's no question that allowing customer demand into the equation will result in exactly the channels and pricing that we collectively will demand. Don't believe the hype about all channels jumping to $5 - $15. That would be like Ford telling cops that if they stop buying exclusively Crown...

The Dish on A la Carte and Capitalism

That's no different than the choices we have now. Show me an expanded basic package that doesn't include ESPN. Unless by "Sports, take it or leave it" you mean that if you "leave it" you have to settle for the channels you can get with an antenna. That's an option we have with DBS or cable also.

The Dish on A la Carte and Capitalism

Don't blame the sports teams or leagues - they grant broadcast rights to the highest bidder. Blame the system that allows unlimited bids with carte blanche to pass those fees onto unwitting customers. This will either be self-corrected (doubtful with 5 major companies that have a hand...

    Auction scam

Is the PayPal "guarantee" contingent on them having access to the jackass' funds? What the hell kind of buyer protection is that?

Nagin - Katrinia Was God's Wrath On America

How smart is it to play the race card when according to his statements, the people likely to be energized by those wacky statements won't be there to vote in April?

I hate to be a prick but....

This whole topic is rediculous. ;)

Take it for what it's worth. He also did a great job of answering all questions just in case this was their last hurrah.

    Two Headed Snake for Sale

I thought the heads would be at opposite ends - that would be cool. Shortly after a meal they'd both be thinking "Wow, that food he eats tastes like sh!t". :)

Fox News vs. CNN vs. MSNBC

Spain's refusal to allow flyover rights was only significant because of the French refusal. There was no need to violate Spanish airspace flying from England to Libya. The direct route would take them over France all the way to the Med. Get me an F-111 loaded with some smart bombs and meet me...

Fox News vs. CNN vs. MSNBC

dragon, trust me, it was France that denied Reagan flyover rights when we bombed Libya.

    Serenity

Loved it. But I was one of the handful that loved the series, so TIFWIW.

Fox News vs. CNN vs. MSNBC

France said no to a flyover, so we flew around them - caused us an additional mid-air refueling of our F-111's. Many bonfires after that of people burning French Fries, French Toast, Perrier and Champagne. ;)

    The missing Christ

:D If you aren't religious, then it's easy to avoid sinning. You are then able to define what is, or is not, considered a sin. BTW, I'm not sure "Do not eat too many Christmas cookies" is a commandment. In fact, I'm pretty sure even Moses didn't celebrate Christmas. ;)

    The missing Christ

    It doesn't.

    The missing Christ

I saw that FOX poll. It allowed multiple selections. I'm sure there are quite a few Christian/Jewish households that celebrate both. Not sure why Kwanzaa was included, it has nothing to do with the holidays.

    22 Congressmen Hate Christmas

The one thing I don't really get is the sudden problem with "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" which nobody has really had a problem with for the past 50 years. I also don't get the reason, except extreme political correctness, to include Kwanzaa as a mandatory mention whenever...

Ebay question. Would I be right to not finish the transaction?

The only holiday exception for UPS is for Ground shipments - 2nd & Next Day (I think 90 minutes buffer added to "Time of Day" guarantees) deliveries should not be affected.

Fox News vs. CNN vs. MSNBC

The percentages are likely to remain pretty similar to what it's at now. Although, I would have guessed closer to 55/30/15.

Fox & Friends in the morning - Daily Show at night - internet for anything else.

Fox News vs. CNN vs. MSNBC

Not as bad as this poll would indicate. Nationally, the ratings put it closer to half, or a little more than half of FNC's numbers.

Poll: What did you end up buying on Black Friday?

Got me a Big Mac for less than $3. No rebate required. Didn't get there until about 1:30pm and the line was only two cars ahead of me. ;)

BYU Physics Professor Thinks Bombs, Not Planes, Toppled WTC

They better hurry, they only have a couple of years left. Looks like we need to turn over the reigns of the government over to the Christians if there is a massive conspiracy to put Satan in power.
